Very nice pics!!! I don't have a real problem w/ spiders. Same thing w/ snakes pretty much. Not that I find either particularly cuddly.
Alligators/crocs I do not like!!!!!
I had a real close encounter w/ a rattlesnake a few years back. My one reaction to the whole thing was gratitude. The snake set off its rattle, giving fair warning, and I backed off (I hadn't even seen it). Snake and I went our separate ways, none worse for the encounter.

Best guess (from the safety of my porch) is he/she was about three inches long and an inch across.

So as I'm crossing the bridge I stopped about 2 feet from the rattler as he perked up at me and gave me his warning. Unfortunatly the only way for me to get back to camp was to pass by.
So I did very slowly and was not struck. wsheew
That is one of the childhood experiences you never forget.

The next time I'm in Cali. I will take some pics of the ones I see common out there.

I get some pretty big spideys around my house, but I prefer to leave them alone or if necessary move them to someplace where I'm not likely to run into them! Except for black widows ... I'll show them no mercy ... I squish them with my shoe if possible and dowse them with pesticides if not (this from a pretty bonafide environmentalist).
Great pics, Dragonflyer!

Thanks guys for all the compliments.
I actually like black widows. We have an understanding. They stay in thier corner of the garage and don't go venture in the house and I don't squish then.
Beside I'm still trying to get better shots. When I take the photos I have to set up a really bright light. And if you just bairly touch the web when taking the shot it spooks them and they run back in to thier hole. Than I have to wait a nother night to take the picture.

This is why I live...in the city...in Hawaii. But if you want to see something really scary, I'll take a picture of the huge 3" cockroaches we got flying around outside during hot summer nights! the roaches we got here (I swear they really do this) can sense fear...so if you see them flying around outside, they tend to fly straight toward the person most scared of them. Its pretty hilarious to watch when I'm NOT the most scared person there!
i don't like spiders and am glad we don't got any of those in my garage, house or neighborhood!
I'm soooo freaked out! ick!

The "guy" in front of your house is a girl. These are common throughout the US and even into lower Canada. Beautiful creatures they are, also do a lot of good.

Spiders are cool... I don't like them crawling on me or inside the house, but I do like them taking care of things in the crawl space.

I really like this camera.
These Black Widows are not inside my house. The only ones in my house are the wolf spiders. Those are harmless and good for the house because the eat the flys. And we get a lot of those.
