Honestly, I'd be happy just to see Japan period!

 

Yeah, buddy! I'd go back in a heartbeat. I was stationed at Misawa (near the shipping town of Hachinohe about 400 miles north of Tokyo) from 1985-1989 and loved it over there.

It'd have been awesome to have a MINI over there back then.

 

When I got to work today, there was a box from Alta for me. I thought, "Damn, that's fast service!" (Thinking it was their short-shifter I had just ordered on Saturday.)

Well, when I opened the box, there was the Alta MINI Die Cast I had forgotten came with last month's photo contest. Needless to say, I was not disappointed that it wasn't the shifter, although I am looking forward to receiving it as I've heard its praises.

The model is actually pretty cool! Apparently it's also a battery-powered model and not Hot Wheel size at all. (for comparison, I snapped the above pic with the Alta MINI setting on my iBook's keyboard.)

So, in ending, the winner for this month's contest will really appreciate this prize. Praises to Alta for its contribution to our photography.

i should get some pics up in time i hope....on the 24th we are doing an insomnia run...getting to the hills for 5am in the morning, we have a couple of Vauxhall VX220`s, a few Cooper S`s , an Aston DB9 and possibly a Lamborghini gallardo !!!! so at that time im soooooo hoping for a decent sunrise and show you, how us BRITS do the job right

I went out yesterday and shot some stuff, but the sky was so clear it was hard to get anything interesting. Oh well, there's more time let for more attempts.

 

Although we may be enjoying these comfortable evenings here in SoCal, the skies, I agree, have been pretty lackluster.

 

I must admit, these clear skies have been nice but they're not helping me with a winning photo...good thing I have a back up if all else fails

 

Deadline is in just a few hours.
I can't wait to behold bunches of fiery skies over cool cars.

These contest themes just keep getting juicier.

ooh the excitement is building...hopefully soon the contest photos will be posted. I untfortunately did not get the shot I had hoped for. Funny how that happens, we had awesome sunsets forever and then bam, as soon as the topic of the contest is posted NOthing! we thought with the rains that last night we might have gotten a good one just in the nick of time but nope. I still can't wait to see what everyone else got.

 

I also didn't get the shot I wanted. We had an awesome sky yesterday and I thought, "yes, this is it!"
Alas, I got "busy" at home and missed the setting sun by about 5 minutes. Then when I got to my location, there was a security guard closing off areas so I waited 'til she moved on.
