David,

I must say that you are truly gifted. A great eye!! Do you do this for a living? The photography I mean.

Matt: I'm a mechanical engineer. Photography is something I enjoy immensely. It presents a nice blend of technical and creative challenges. While I don't make a living from it, I have started to do some photoshoots on the side now (click my signature for more details).

Juan:
I like that photo a lot too.

Have you tried editing the back window again?

Not yet. I'll tackle it tomorrow night.
I'm still trying to decide about the blocks, whether to take them out completely or add/flip to the passenger-side.

Okay . . .
Decided to keep the car's original color intact but went ahead and fixed up the background on this MINI Cooper S's photograph I snapped atop the Palace Station parking structure in Vegas last weekend.

Here are the comparisons . . .

heavily photoshopped (previously posted)

subliminal manipulation

Now I'm wondering whether I should take out that fence seam behind the passenger side?

I am no photography expert, but I was thinking that the first time I saw your picture. It is beautiful by the way!

P.S. Thanks for posting the pics of my car. I am now using them in my sig, hope you don't mind!

I like this newest edit better. The whole image is better balanced, both in terms of the symmetry and the color. Actually, I had no idea the car was originally yellow. The body color looks great.

Regarding the seam: I would leave it. That and the little conduit fitting add some character to the wall.

I notice that you burned in the interior to get rid of the rear window, did you have problems removing the green tinge?

Bud, I don't mind at all. How did your son react to the photos by the way?

Dave, in editing, I went back to the raw file and pretty much started over from scratch. By leaving most of the colors alone, there was no longer a green tinge back there. I went with burning in to give it a limo tint appearance- kind of adding a "menacing mystery" to its overall stance.

Looking good as usual, especially first and second last photo in the first post as well as

I feel the photo with the tower would have been better if the car didn't block parts of the tower.

Top notch, coming from a fellow photographer.

He told me he actually went to this site while in school and clicked on your sig and rated them! I laughed, because at his age it is hard to get him out of bed let alone to get him motivated to do anything on his own and here all you had to do was take a couple of photos!

Those were the new MINI photos that I took at AMVIV I liked a lot too. The other photo that I'm very happy with is this one of a classic Mini.

Thanks. I agree with your assessment regarding the tower shot. If I were doing that over again, I might also try to get up a little higher so that the black roof was offset against the parking structure wall some, and didn't disappear into the black sky.

Thanks you two.

BMINI: glad you came across the photos. It's been too long since I was last in Denver. Hopefully all is well.

Love the seam! It adds texture and a compositional zing that would be missed if eliminated.
