Ah, sorry. I misunderstood what you meant by the first picture. My mistake.

What happened to the brief tutorial??, I sent one of my photo buddy's the link and noticed it was gone. Nice additions though, I like that you added photos from each phase of your learning process now.

Back in early December, I decided to pull the how-to down, after four months of no one else making an honest attempt at it, and turned the first post into more of a showcase of my progression.

Thanks keikilee. I have been thinking about doing something like that for a little while. In the next couple days I should have something more to put up about various offerings.

BTW, these most recent pictures were done with a Nikon D70 and the 18-70mm "kit" lens that comes bundled with the camera. That said, I have also taken these types of pictures with my 2.5 year old Nikon 4300 P&S camera, so no special camera is really required.

It's not all that much closer to you, but I am contemplating taking the show on the road for AMVIV for anyone interested in getting this done but not from SoCal.

Dave,

I noticed this pic on your sig yesterday when I got back home.

At the time, the link led to nowhere until today.

The ghostly palm trees in the background mesmerize me. Motion blurring accentuates the MINI. I agree with the other posters, it is an excellent image.

Stats? Time of day? Filters? (ND? Filter factors?) Location?
I couldn't get much EXIF stuff.

Thanks. I just couldn't take my eyes off of it when I first saw the palm trees and the blur full size on the monitor after the upload (and not on that postage stamp LCD).

The lack of exif was intentional.

Get me at least 5 people commited to doing this I'll think about flying out for a Photography Pulley Party.

Edit: after looking at my existing vacations that are already planned, I don't have the vacation time to travel to other locations.

Thanks Tuls.

If you do make it out here (even without a MINI), bring your camera, I'd be up for a day around L.A. taking pictures.
