My First real test of the Go Pro Hero 3 Black

So I got the New Hero 3 Black for Christmas and have been playing around with it. We had our first "real" club run this weekend so I took it along to see how it would do ( as compared to my Hero 2 ).

The run was up our local mountain preserve ( we run it all the time ) I have lots of footage of it from the front of the MINI - so this time I mounted the Go Pro to the rear of my Clubman . What the heck - lets see if that looks cooler that a front view... I think it turned out ok, it picked up the exhaust note pretty good. Now I just need to work on my editing skills and learn how the Go Pro works better.

Check it out

Sadly my Hero 3 is also being under used. Half tempted to mount it and just go driving vs waiting until the first AutoX in April...But in Kansas, there aren't alot of back road twisties to test, lol.

Bigcoyote,

Do you have any movie examples in 1080p using your GoPro Black?

Thanks...

Wow, awesome video. Thanks for uploading...

And what was that guy's problem on the side of the road? He was cursing at something.

Is the Hero 3 (Black Edition) worth the additional cost over the Hero 2?

Sweet video!!

Where did you have the GoPro Mounted? I'd love to use my Contour cameras like this on a club run, but I always have to work weekends :(

I do but I don't put them on youtube - they take forever upload -- I just put the "dumbed down" versions on youtube (720p). I will try and put the next one up in 1080 , they look really nice!!

Thanks -- He was pissed at some other club members that had passed thru before we did going WAY faster than us -- I was leading the 2nd pack of cars and we got to catch his cr@p - no big deal - it always happens on that run - someone gets yelled at by a bicyclist or a hiker.

I am still learning how to use the new 3 - but if I didn't have either one I would save my $$ and buy the hero2 to start with. The only real advantage the 3 has so far is the built in wi-fi ( that I don't use much so far ). or maybe check out the Hero 3 white and silver editions - both good cameras.

The Black does offer more features if your going to learn how to use them.

Thanks!!!! I mounted it with a Craven Speed towhook mount on the rear of my MINI - it's super solid -- if you check out some of my other videos I have used the same mount on the front of the MINI. It works great!!! and its fast to install & remove.

You need to go on some runs - they are a blast!!!!
