I have a GoPro 2, the craven tow hook mount, and and iPhone in car camera running Harry's Lap Timer.

The tow hook mount has given the best visual and more importantly growl/whine so for, and Harry's lap timer is a fantastic app, where you can tie into your OBD and create videos with overlays right on the iPhone, without any external app. I can even import my go pro video and overlay the data to it...
