Trying out a different style of post processing.

In my opinion it looks too overdone thus giving it a fake look. I don't like it.

if you can darken up and bring back some color depth i think it would look great. i love the car itself in this photo, but the rest is a bit washed out. is this a form of hdr? or something else?

Fantastic picture! I like the effect even if the green isn't really green!

Nope. Just desaturated the greens.

Do you mind putting up the original without any editing? I'd like to see it!

Doesn't ring my bell, the car colorwise is gray, gray, no life to it, picture woud be better if it was cropped down to the top of the shrubs in back and to about 3 feet past the tee in the sidewalk, effectively from portrait aspect to landscape.

I like the original photo, for what that's worth. You have to realize if you post a picture someone is likely to critique it.

Just a reminder for all in this thread, from the NAM Site Guidelines:

RESPECT
When posting, both members and vendors must ALWAYS be respectful of fellow members and vendors. Personal attacks, trolling/baiting, deliberate antagonizing, and flaming will not be tolerated. If you feel you are being attacked, report the post or private message rather than replying or flaming back. However, do not use the report bad post feature to "cry wolf" when you are in fact the instigator of the demise of a discussion. Doing so will result in an infraction or strike.

CLEAN
Do not post explicit, obscene or vulgar language and do not solicit or offer explicit, X-rated, or similar content. Use of the private messaging system in this way is also prohibited.
My personal recommendation is that critiques are merely that. It is easy to take them personally but they are meant to be constructive criticism. You can simply disagree with someone's critique without having to blow up at them.

All of THAT taken care of....

As a non-photographer layperson, I like the first shot the best. I think the processing of the greens is quite cool and makes the car "pop" out of the photograph.

While I agree with you about critiques, as I recall this is not a photogrpahic forum, where you have photographers critiquing each others work. Yes, critiques are to help the photographer learn, I fullly understand that. I wasn't looking for a critique when I uploaded the photo, I was mearly showing off my mini and it's surroundings, and decided to process it to make the car stand out. I guess the comment "doesn't ring my bell" set me off. I have clients that pay for my work and don't feel that I need to be told how to crop a photo by someone that doesn't know what they're talking about, make mention of cropping prefrences.

Why do you keep deleting my post? Please delete his post. Or better yet, delete the whole thread.

Don't worry I won't post anymore photos on this site. I guess I should have paid attention to the posts over on mortoringunderground regarding NAM and 90% of it's members.

Posts not germane to the topic of the OP (the photograph you first posted) are removed. Bickering is not part of the photographic process

ON-TOPIC
Posts must be on-topic, relating to discussion of MINI Cooper's or other North American Motoring discussion areas. Posts in the wrong discussion areas will be moved without notice and posts that are not on topic for any North American Motoring discussion area will be deleted without notice.
I don't have much more to say than it appears you are taking the posters comments personally when I am sure they are not intended that way. Critique is not for everyone; there is a TON of photographic critique and many professional photographers on this forum and many of them indeed DO know what they speak of. I, however, am not one of them, and I very much like the first photograph.

I suppose critique is not for everyone, though, and I guess if that is the case it should probably be avoided if it's going to cause this kind of conflict. I will not delete the thread, but I will close it - that should solve the problem.
