How much of a MINI can I depict in an art piece that I plan sell?

I know that with Porsche, I'm not supposed to show the whole car (particularly a 911) and certainly not the logo or badges for any piece that I sell. Is MINI the same way? I was planning on painting a piece that showed all or most of the car sans logo. Will that be ok or will I get to speak with MINI (or BMW) legal?

 

Need to contact MINIUSA and get approval first......or ask for forgiveness later LOL

 

As an artist, you can paint what you want - think of the restaurant landmark series with the names boldly depicted. There are many examples of reality shown in paintings

 

if you ask the owners of trademarks, they say you can't THINK it without paying. But think of photos of race cars, or street cars or the like.

Paint whatever you want....
