MINI/Mini Featured Marque at Cincinnati British Car Day

Mark Sunday, July 18, 2004 on your calendar for MINI and Mini action. The British Car Club of Greater Cincinnati together with the Ohio Valley Austin-Healey Club are honoring our cars this year as the featured marque. There will be judged classes for both original Minis and the new MINI, plus (and this is always the best part) you can partake in timed 1/4 mile runs at the dragstrip behind the display field. Pre-Registration is $12.00, $15.00 day of the show. To drag race is an additional $20.00 for use of the track, plus you need a helmet, long pants and seat-belts.

Check out:

for more info on how to register and get directions.

Just a brief update of a successful British car show.

Over 200 vehicles on display, covering from Austin-Healey to TVRs, and just about everything in-between. There were nine New MINIs and about the same number of old Minis. Fastest British car at the drags was a 1940's Ford Anglia (with a leetle bit more hp than stock). It was turning 11 second times at 105+ mph.

NAMers who brought and displayed their rides included: Motorn, twstlvr and moi (mgcman). Best new MINI at the concourse was a CR MC with waxed and polished everything. It looked spectacular and the crowd knew it.

Next up? Ohio's All Mini/MINI meet on July 25th at Columbus.
