MINIS take Southeast Kansas
I thought I would post the information about our drive next month on NAM in case anyone in the Midwest is interested you are welcome to join us at any point along the way. Please let me know if you are interested in all or part of the drive.
MINIS takes Southeast Kansas
Saturday, Sept. 22nd. 2012
We'll meet in the parking lot of the
Rose Hill High School
710 S. Rose Hill Rd.
Rose Hill, Kansas
at 8:45 a.m. We need to be ready to leave promptly at 9 a.m.
We’ll decide on a lunch stop once everyone arrives.
Our first stop will be in West Mineral, KS at Big Brutus, the 2nd largest electric shovel in the world. We can get up close and personal with Big Brutus and look around in the museum and Visitor’s Center.
Admission Prices
Sr. Citizen (age 65 and over) $7.50
Adults (age 13 to 64) $8.00
Children (age 6 to 12) $5.00
Under age 5 are free

Next we’ll head to Galena, KS and meet “Tow Tater” and his caregiver Melba the Mouth. Melba is a fast talker with a lot of stories about “Tow Tater” and his history and connection to the Disney Cars movies. Listening to Melba is a treat you’re sure to enjoy.

Our last stop will in Pittsburg, KS for dinner at the famous Chicken Annie’s. We’re scheduled to eat at 5 p.m. You can visit their website for menu, prices, history, etc.

This will be a long day, but sure to be an enjoyable one.

Only one week left until our drive begins. By the replies that I have gotten it looks to be a good trip so don't miss out. For those that believe that Kansas is flat and only has roads that make squares don't know the roads that I'm taking.
