I am starting to see MINIS motoring all over the western suburbs of Chicago. How about getting a few together for some fun, food and tryng to find a road that turns in Illinois. A quick trip up to Wisconsins Kettle Morain area could work. My MINI is on the Don Juan, Scheduled for New York on Sept 10 or 11. I probably will have it two weeks after it gets to the distribution center. October is great for fall color tours.

Spring Green would make a nice destination. There are some great backroads in that area. I have been there a fw times on my motorcycle. I guess we should plan out a few get togethers!

Didn't buyt mine from Patrick. Got mine from Anderson BMW in Crystal Lake. Long story, but it had 400 miles on it already. Was owned by Anderson.

So, when's the get together?

 

I saw the Chili Red S outside at Anderson BMW a couple weeks ago. How did they acquire the MINI ? You didn't pay what they were asking did you?

 

The owner of Anderson owned my car. Put it up for sale to "not **** off BMW" so the story goes.

I payed more than what the car is worth new, but I don't think I got molested. I am happy with it and that's all that matters.

Someone somewhere is always getting a better deal....that life.

 

Congrats on your MINI!

The owners lounge says my car should be at the dealer 9/16/02. The cargo company site says the ship is in NYC today. Iwas thinking about the first or second weekend in October for a run. I could maybe make it the end of September but I may have to show up on my R1100. We should gather some info such as what day is better for most folks, Sat. or Sun. Where should we meet and so on. If anyone is familiar with the Highland House in Highland park, we could make that a starting point for a trip to the lake Geneva area. Let's get some ideas and see what sounds good.

How was your dealings with Anderson BMW? Were they decent or were they jagoffs? I ask because I was considering a used BMW and I live up here in the NW suburbs close by to Anderson. That car looked awesome by the way, congratulations on your purchase.

 

I had no problems. They seemed to want my business (obviously) and were happy to help.

Got room for a Des Moines MINI???? would love to Motor with some folks. So far only 5 registered in Iowa, plus would give me and the GF a chance to visit the windy city again.

I have a special place in my wallet for Iowa. My daughter and my money are going to Cornell College in Mt. Vernon. There are people from the northern suburbs of Chicago and some from Wisconsin and now Iowa willing to gather. The western part of IL. along the Missippi river up into Wisconsin might be the best place to meet. How Does that sound to all of you who want to Motor!

That sounds like a plan! I have not been out to the casinos yet. How does October 5 or 6 sound for a date for motoring the Mississipi? How many can meet on one of those days and wich is better?

I am all for a get together. Time got away from me the last couple of weeks. Iwould be up for a Sunday morning ride. Maybe stop in at the Starbucks in Lake Geneva, or try to find a place that has room for us for breakfast. We could motor up to Eagle/Palmyra area for some good roads and views. That is the kettle Moraine area only 30 or so Min. from Geneva.
