Finding an affordable one used may be easier thought of than actually done. If you look up the values of 02 and 03 MCS's, wou'll find that there current Black Book, Blue Book, NADA, and others are at least as much as MSRP. That means you'd probably pay full price for a used car and get a used car rate. Buying new direct from the dealer would probably be a better option as at least you could get a decent price (dreyer and Reinbold in Indy sells at MSRP) and a new car (ie lower) rate.

Also, through certain dealers your can get build slots that are near-term and you won't have to wait six months to get your car. I would recommend MINI of the Hamptons (one of our sponsors). Ask for Torr Marro the sales manager there. At this point you should be able to get an early July build date and have your car late August. Torr can also arrange transport of your car directly to you if you can't pick it up from the dealership.

Another dealer I would recommend is Bill Jacobs MINI in Naperville, IL. Ask for Andrew Zolper the sales manager there. I bought my car (the TEAM MCO Cooper S through and drove it back to Colorado. They should have some near term build slots as well.

Both dealers sell at MSRP and can handle financing arrangements over the phone so that when you show up you sign a few documents and off you go.

If you contact them be sure to tell them that Mark from MINI COOPER Online recommended them.

Happy hunting!

Mark
