1) Does anyone out there know of a shop in the Northern Illinois area that's doing good work on Minis, especially aftermarket performance gear?

2) Does anyone know of a good Northern Illinois driving school?

Thanks!

Yeah. I saw their advert immediately after posting that question. I poked around their website, and they look pretty impressive. Have you (or anyone else reading this :smile ever personally used them? The guys at Bill Jacobs will do some mods for me (I asked!), but I wanted to weigh options, and furthermore, I was feeling really jealous of everyone in Philly having Helix all to themselves!

Even though I have a 330ci, I think Bill Jacobs stinks. First their pricing sucked on cars and their customer service is a joke.

Try Patrick BMW in Schaumburg.

the only bad thing about using dealerships for mod's is that they know you have em'!!!
make that 2 bad things, they will rape you on labor rates!

Not to hijack my own thread, but I have had really great experiences by and large with Bill Jacobs. I see that you are a BMW owner, so perhaps they are different in that department, but the Mini people are REALLY good folks, and their customer service is nothing short of exceptional. The reason I initially went with Bill Jacobs was because they were the only crew in the city that were really tricking out the Minis that they were selling--you can look on the street: the really hot Minis in Chicago are almost always from Bill Jacobs (at least in my experience). I know some people may not appreciate paying for dealer add-ons, but I LIKE having a car that stands out on the road. Also, as far as pricing goes, every Mini dealer in the city is selling their cars at MSRP, so there really is no way to have superior Mini pricing.

But I digress...
