MidCal :: Memorial Day Weekend!
#4
Funny, funny, funny.
Working on the final details. Trying to stay away from traffic, and its hard.
Plan so far,
Meet for breakfast, 9am, BJ's Country Kitchen, at Cedar and Herndon, s/e corner.
Leave at aprox. 10am.
Head out Belmont towards Pineflat lake
turn towards Avacado lake
then turn going to Wonder Valley, go thru there to hwy 180, turn left,
go to hwy 145
take 30 miles to Woodlake, then either turn left to Blossom Junction, or right to Brubakers, or do both.
also looking at the option of taking Dunlap road off of 180 and before 145, its a very twistie road, just need to look and see where it comes back out.
How does this sound?

Sounds good so far. Oakhurst is going to be a zoo with 140 still closed. The traffic going to Yosemite is going to gridlock the 49/41 junction. I don't want to be anywhere near Yosemite this weekend. Two weekends ago the traffic was backed up to Fish Camp from the entrance station and it took over two and a half hours to get in.

I just thought 9am was a good time to meet, so we could have breakfast before heading out. Its not set in stone. We can make it a little later if needed.

JUST GOT HOME FROM THE "CRUISE", NO ROOMS IN THE INN. GREAT DRIVE. 198 THRU SEQUOIA, HUME LAKE ROAD OVER TO 180 AND 180 TO THE END IN KINGS CANYON, TURNAROUND AND BACK 180 TO 63 AND HOME TO VISALIA. 200 MILES AND LOTS OF TWISTIES. SAW LOW TEMP OF 34, SNOW FLURRIES AND RAIN STORMS. BEAUTIFUL RAINBOWS AND WATERFALLS. THE KINGS RIVER IS A ROARING BOILING TORRENT, BEAUTIFUL BUT DEADLY. MOM HAD A GREAT TIME, EVEN WHEN THE MINI STARTS TO GET EXCITED WITH THE TWISTIES. HOPE THE OTHER BOYS HAD FUN ON THERE DRIVE.

Whoo Hooo, Gang! Look whose back! Just got the computer back from the shop. They had to replace all the guts; hard drive, motherboard, etc, etc..
I'll be finishing the logo soon.
In the meantime, Yancey and I spent a few days in La Quinta (Palm Springs) and took a day trip out to Joshua Tree for a half day of climbing.......
See ya'll soon!

Hidden Valley? Quail Springs? You could have gotten a more robust Joshua Tree in the picture. There a thousands of better ones in the park.
