As of this morning, 159 MINIs registered, but as of 2/24 there were 210 rooms booked under the group rate. Very odd.

That is odd. Well maybe people just don't want to pre register, and just plan to show up.

That's what we figure. I guess there are also people who just don't want to throw in $20 to register. They'll drive a few hundred miles, paying $2.50 a gallon, pay $60-70 a night for a room, go on all the drives and hang out at the social stuff, but won't help out with the fixed costs.
I don't understand those people. I'm not going to try to stop them from attending or doing runs or anything else, I just don't understand the "the universe owes me everything" mindset.

Well, it could also be that they dont want to put close to $100 into something they are not sure they are going to do... The hotel reservations can always be canceled... I figure you will get a big rush on signups within 15 days of the event.

Also, the hotel discount was for a limited time. Registration is the same no matter when you sign up. So some may have reserved the hotel to get the rate and will register later since there's no difference in price.

Ya. You guys might want to give a discount to people that register early next year to give yourself a better heads up time for the number of people.

Quite a few of us have been going since its inception so we've seen it growing every time. I'm sure this year will be no different.

Just think . . . . "Two more weeks, two more weeks, two more . . ."

Last year the room count was about 150, this year it's over 200, which doesn't count the people who have other, favorite, hotels to stay at, or are local. There are only 3 Vegas residents staying at Palace Station.
We're guessing somewhere around 250-300 cars this year. It was right around 200 last year.
See you here.

We are ready

Maybe I will get more than 10 hours of sleep this year, but not counting on it.

I wouldn't bet on it. When I used to visit Vegas before I moved here, I never got much sleep.

I havn't pre-registered yet but I figured there would be someone there that I could give the $20 too. I don't need a room cause I have family in town so I'm making it a week long family visit/mini thang.
