Mt. Diablo Run Feeler
OK people, we need a decision on a date for Mt. Diablo or a no-go because of the distance from MidCal's home area (Fresno). We can always hookup with a more northerly club when they do a run to Mt. Diablo and plan a closer run instead. Thoughts? Complaints? Anybody home at MidCal?

We'll be a club of two unless we can get everyone else off their a$$s and into their MINIs.

Mt. Diablo...Don't let it die!
So are we still on for a run to Mt. Diablo on 22nd October?
I am up for it if we have enough people.
Unfortunately not enough of our MidCal folks read/respond to this forum. I wish we had message board capabilities on the midcalminis site.
Steve S, are you still going to help us out and coordinate this run? Would be much appreciated. remember, email me with comments, suggestions, complaints, ideas, etc...at midcalminis@fresnomail.com
Cheerio,
Michele
BTW I finally had a chance to leave a club card on a DS/DS/S today in Visalia

I am running MegaBBS software from PD9 software for the REME MegaBBS. I like it a lot. It is free, but I suggest paying the small software cost to gain user support. For a total of $60+- they will even install it on your server although it still take hours of work tweaking. It took me about 6 hours to have the BBS up and running.
see http://www.pd9soft.com/.
If your October 22 Mt. Diablo run doesn't work out, we have a run in the planning stages (although not until 2006)... stay tuned.

I believe Mo and I are down for this run.
Guys a quick and easy email route and such is available through yahoo groups.
Michelle, please send this to your email list. It is one central place to see, and receive emails as well as allow us a place to start-up until the website is settled. I am STILL not on your email list (Mo is), so we still may miss some people but please send everyone to this link:
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/MidCalMINI/
and have them sign up and we will be able to send out emails that everyone will receive.

Hey - I'd still like to do this on the 22nd.
Popular response says let's meet at Starbuck's (Highway 99 and Ave 16, then west of freeway on the left) at 8:30. Head down 99 to Modesto, turn west on 132, head up 580 until it meets 205 in Tracy and turn onto Grant Line Road. Go through the windmills, through Byron, the back way past Mt. Diablo on Marsh Creek Road, through Clayton and head for the park.
I'm thinking we'll be at base of Mt. Diablo by 10:45 (driving pretty slowly) and at the summit at 11ish. Hang out there for a while and have lunch in Walnut Creek. There's a great sports bar/pool parlor (first class place, really) with good food and a wide variety of driving fluid that I'm voting for.
Anyone still interested?

Did someone kick over a rock? Thought we'd lost you, again. We talked about Mt. Diablo last night at the meeting and we know for sure that there are three of us going. You makes four. I will already be in the Bay Area so I will meet you on the way there; maybe meet you at Grant Line Road so I get the back road tour. If you are for sure going to lead this pack, I will gladly let you organize this.

Let's do this run. I will be there (for sure...), hopefully leaving by 8:45 from Starbux.
If you think I'm flaking, I'm not. Nothing but computer issues/Comcast/Toshiba -- pick up the phone and call me. I have no life, but for MINI runs.
As I told RFish on Sunday, my wife and I are definitely in, he makes two MINIs. Who else will be there? Who is a maybe? If nobody else, we're still going and it will be fun.
I'll tell you 'bout my interview with the Sacto Bee (I'm gunna be published! With a picture MINI, of course) and the trip through the bird wetlands/sanctuaries and then up to Yosemite last Saturday.
Hope everyone is great. ss

I wanna come to this, i don't know the area that well though. I am down in san jose area would be coming up 680. If someone could post the address of this starbucks(or pm me dircetions) I really want to come!! Thanks a bunch!!!
Highway 99 and Ave 16. This is in Fresno so I don't know if you want to meet there or Grant Line Road at 580 near Tracy. I'm leaving from Sausalito Saturday about 9:00 to be at Grant Line about 10:00.

If I remember correctly, there's a park-n-ride at the Grant Line exit on the westbound side of 580 -- I'm pretty sure about this, but not positive -- and we'll meet you there (if there's not one there, meet us on the other side of the freeway on Grant Line, just past bottom of exit). It'll take us an hour to get to Modesto, then another 25 minutes (or so, depends on traffic on 132...) getting to Grant Line. 10:00 sounds a bit optimistic -- 10:15-10:30, depending on when we can actually get out of Madera, is probably a little more realistic on our part.
It's gunna be fun!

Meet at park and ride
You are correct about the park and ride.
I will plan on meeting everyone at 10:15 at the park and ride.
What radio channel will you be on?

Be careful though, Steve's drool marks are very hard to get out, took 3 hours of rubbing compound after the last meet up for me to get them out....
If anyone is coming from Visalia or south Fresno area, let me know we can meet up and drive to Madera...

If they don't get started on time in Fresno/Madera we could have a wait so bring something to do or we can drool on each other's cars.
