That will work if you only want power when the car is on. I prefer the added fuse block that I can wire anyway I please.

I only want my acesories on when the cars on, so tapping into the cigarrette lighter wiring is the trick in my case...

And yes, I'm going the roll bar myself. If I need to do any welding, I have access to the Univeristy tool ship with any kind of welding machine you can imagine. I also have the ability to machine anything I like.

Blake, what kind or roll cage are you going with after all? So your University has a ship full of tools?

Chris, are you using the AUX in or the built FM transmitter? If you are using the AUX, be aware there are issues with using the lighter circuit at the same time. You can do a search in the Audio for everyones opinion.

This mod cost me $300.

Ya. I would rather do it myself and have the satisfaction of knowing I can do it. My only problem with the roll bar is that I have to butcher some interior pannels... Its not like I can;t replace them later on should I take it out, but I want it to look clean. I'm going to have to do some interesting fab work...

Ya. And it looks like I'm going for a full roll cage bacause its required for most racing series. Not too much more expensive. I will probably place my order for it at the end of this month, depending on when my paycheck comes in.

I'm not setting it up 100% for racing, but I do want to be able to compete in the National MINI series and also in SCCA time trials.

Ya. The things that are going to hurt my driveability the most are the lightweight flywheel and stage 2 clutch. I've given up on the turbo, but I'm still considerig the 1.8l engine stroker kit.. I will probably buy a head from him first and get software from him.

He is very smart. He can go bigger, but then you need a whole new ECU which means another 3 or 4 grand...

Chris, we are using Mobil 1 and will have Castrol soon, also. I've used Mobil 1 in my cars since the '80s.
