Michele,

I just saw the pictures, ouch! I hope your are having better luck with the police reports / insurance today. You don't deserve any more frustration right now.

NO NO NO

that is NOT a good thing at all !!!

"M".. be TOUGH don't just settle for a fix

Really plant the seed of hidden damage

Even once (if) repaired they can re new a clam and total
(happend to me once ... a $12k jeep with 8k in damage ... and they fixed it. after getting it back and not 100 % happy ... kept saying "I feel un-safe"

eventually they paid me off 12k+ ... I think they resold and NOT totaled the jeep but ... I was much more happy

Dang, that is jacked up. You should replace it with a 2007 JCW Cooper S, thats what I would do.

The guys at Valley Collision in Hanford are not going to total Sir Nigel. So far there is $5200 worth ot damage and it may increase. I went to see him today and the back seat has been taken out, the hatchback and rear window have been removed, as has the black plastic molding along the driver side. Tomorrow I am going there to take pics and will post them here.
Cheers,
-M-

I'd say the damages are about $6,500. Not nearly enough to be declared a total loss.

I was in the ballpark. That's what looking at 20 estimates a day will do.

Michelle, I give you credit for looking at your beloved MINI during the repair process. Most people don't have the stomach for it. I once saw a woman walk into a body shop while they were sectioning her unibody vehicle. It had the rear one/third of the vehicle cut off. She literally cried and walked out.

I'm sure the repairs will go perfectly and your MINI will look and drive perfectly.

More pics of Nigel

Here's what Sir Nigel looked like as of Monday, May 21st...
The collision shop is still insisting he's 'fixable'.
Cheers,
Michele

Michele,

Wow! That is hard to look at. Reminds me why I don't watch those surgery shows on the medical channel. They always look bad before they look better. I will keep thinking positive thoughts for you and Nigel.

Michele-

Van told me of what happened to your MINI. I am so bummed for you and Sir Nigel. I hope you get your MINI back as soon as possible, looking as spectacular as it did before. You should get Van to detail Sir Nigel when you do get him back.

All the best,
Lex

Thanks Lex,
Yeah, I will definitely pamper Sir Nigel with a good detailing. A trip down to OC is most definitely one of the first we'll make together after his 'surgery'.
Cheers,
