Windshields who to use?
Well after 83,000 miles of driving through flying debris I have come to the realization this morning that I need a new windscreen. It was very hard to see out of this morning with the sun streaming in. It sort of looked like a planetarium display, look at all the pretty stars.
I've used Guardian glass before & have been happy with their work. Any other companies you guys & girls recommend?
PS: Anyway to have this post both here & over on the other un-named, but better MINI site? Having to post stuff in both places is going to be a pain in the tochus.

Safelite is not all that great. I had it done in Mass and it was a mess. The tech broke the clips and instead of putting new ones in he used silicon to hold the trim on. Then the glass they use is cheap xy garbage that has a warp when looking though it. Added to that, the rain sensor was faulty so they had to do it again. I requested Pilkington this time (same glass used by BMW/MINI) and got the clips fixed from the first moron that did the glass. PGP and Pilkington are the way to go, don't accept anything else. I would also call your local MINI dealer and find out who they source for glass replacement and have them do it. They will have the proper tools for your MINI.

Thanks for all the help guys. The big variable here is the installer. Some are good & some are not so good. Sort of a carp shoot who shows up to do the job.
I've used Guardian here in town probably at least a half dozen times over the years. For me I think it will be OK & I'll be using them for this. When asked about clips & parts that were needed they said they replace them on every job. I'll let you know how it goes.

The deed is done....
Well the installer from Guardian Glass just left. I'm very pleased with the install & the care the installer took with my MINI.
He was a very detail oriented person, even so he would not detail my car.
The glass used was Pilkington, sort of sounds like glass that should be in a Limey car.

Thanks for all of the constructive help.
There must be a way to post this stuff on both sites???? Without all of this extra work.
