That sounds about right to me. This information will be on the Carfax and no matter how much you assure people it was fixed right some people just will not buy a car that has been in an accident. It is critical that you get as much documentation as possible from the people doing the work so you can show that in the future.

Good luck on getting that $$ I have never heard of anybody getting anywhere close to what they deserve on this front a friend of mine got $500 to cover the loss in value when they were rear ended in their Benz.

I also just noticed you have the contrasting C pilars the car is going to need to be repainted anyway if you don't like that look they should be able to paint the pilars for next to no cost.

Do you have a pic of the rear of the car pre crash? I could photoshop something up pretty quickly.

Here's my shot at Ps. I wish that I had the time to figure out how to use it! I think that I can scratch digital photo editing off my list of backup careers!

Allen, not that I could do any better, but it looks like some gang bangers with spray cans tagged that Clubman.

Cooperjet your version is much better.

Now what we need is the photoshop guru to chime in with a real job for us. Hey John where are you?

Okay, this is "she" posting under his screen name. What are the opinions on this? I kinda like it, but was wondering what the real car people thought!

Hi there....

I'm of the opinion that it will look very good. I never understood why MINI insisted that the back pillars & bumper have to be either silver or black.

I guess that I need to get hubby to talk to the body shop. They are supposed to start pulling my poor car apart next week.

I personally would go with the part next to the windows in black and the lower part in body color. But that is all just what I would do.

Thanks! It is definitely something that we are looking in to.
Going off topic, what was the plane that got hit by the fuel truck? Airplanes are involved in the day job.

You absolutely do need to be compensated for the dimished value. In GA if the damage is more than slight they are now required to pay for diminshed value. With a car as new as yours the loss is probably bigger than with a car with some age on it.

I once had to negotiate this on an airplane that was hit by a fuel truck and I had to get 2 aircraft brokers to provide a written estimate indicating the amount of the loss. Check with some body shops-they may know of someone that specializes in this.

Glad no one was hurt. They will be able to make her good as new. My wife hit a deer in our BMW 530 with damages of $9,500!! It was good as new. Good luck!!!

So I've been looking on some other threads and apparently you can get the top portion of the c pillars already black. We would just have to have the taillight surrounds and top bumper piece painted. I haven't seen a good way to extend the chrome trim which would be nice. Have to keep searching!

Yes you can buy those top pieces in black. IMO it looks a bit strange the way MINI left the chrome trim off the corner pieces. So far I have not seen any clubman with the missing trim in place.
