Reservations were made for two sites at Salt Fork State Park. They each hold 6 people and have electric and are equally near showers/toilets. Also, I 'think' these are pretty close to the lake/river, so I'm hoping for a good view! Ang and I are most likely bringing our two dogs with us, so these sites are 'pet-friendly'. Looks to be about $12/person assuming 10 people make it. Didn't realize there were reservation charges... go figure

We're a GO. Now... who's bringing what to eat?

ps: shoot me a PM for more info on the sites. ALSO: IF YOU NEED TO CANCLE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP.

I was at the last Burning River Mini Saturday morning meeting and heard about this camping trip. My wife will be getting back from a business trip late Friday, I was wondering if you have room for one more person for Sat. night? Please let me know what I can bring as well.

I"m not sure what time we'll make it there at this time. We honestly haven't figured up the time yet what with work on friday and such... So I'd think Sat might work better.

How about other campers... what time do you think you'll be there on Friday night?

About how long is the drive from columbus? ---1hr50mins(freeway)
Anyone have a route planned?
or
Do you guys just want to take the freeways?
I could plan a route but it'll probably take longer than 2hours from columbus.
Thu and I could be there by 9 at the latest, unless we do a "drive" there.
Ideas?

We'll be doing a 'Freeway' run for sure just because of the distance. I'm trying to work out a day drive for saturday, but if anyone else if more familiar with the area, please feel free to volunteer to do the route... I've never been there, nor do I have the time to scout it out, so I'm just going off of curvy roads from Google maps.

For Saturday I am thinking of splitting it up with half being marinated pork chops and the other half being marinated chicken breast, unless people would rather have one or the other. We are also bringing sweet corn. If anyone else would like to bring anything else to add, feel free.

Also if there are any vegetarians let me know and I can probably make you something.

Hey that's all I was going to do. LOL.

I think we can do lunch on one of the days, I'll have to collaborate with Thu to be sure.

Is everyone else planning on freeways there?

Someone will also need to bring "campfire food necessities" such as stuff for smores/ hot dogs to roast. Do I hear any volunteers?

We can bring HOTDOGS!!!! for sure.

We were also thinking about Deli meat and bread for sandwiches on Saturday. Bologna, Ham, and Turkey sound good? American Cheese. Lettuce, Pickels, Miracle Whip, Mayo. White and Wheat bread.
Probably will bring some chips to munch on as well.

I think we are heading out from columbus around 6, or 6:30, so 8:30 is looking like our time as well.

JP----Ideas on meeting on the east side of columbus as you guys come thru?

That is a wonderful way to plan a drive without having to do scouting. It's what I do. I would suggest staying on state routes, because they will be paved. With google you can not tell if the county & township roads are paved. I know most folks wouldn't want to drive on gravel roads. I like them, but prefer to drive the Subaru if dirt roads are to be run.

So overall food wise what we still need are the following:

paper plates
cups
plastic silverware
(all of the above for about 12-15 people for 5 meals).

Pop/drinks (we will bring orange juice and coffee for breakfasts)
marshmallows
chocolate
graham crackers (for s'mores of course)
lunch for one of the two days
sides for dinner on Saturday

Post what you can bring.

Yes! We will be bringing Deli meats and things to make sandwiches for lunch on Saturday. This will also include the:
Ham, Turkey, Roast Beef
Hot Dogs, Hot Dog Buns
Cheese (American)
Catchup
Mustard
Miracle whip
Mayo
Chips
Pop (DR.PEPPER)
Water

I also would like to know if anyone wants to meet Friday evening before getting there to have an evening drive, not on the freeways. Otherwise I'll just grab a few ideas for a drive during the weekend.
Thanks

Yeah unfortunately she is 9 years old now and a Boxer so very proned to cancer and we really don't want to stress her body and give the small amount of cancer, we are pretty sure is already there, a better hold. We would love to have to not deal with this each year but my mom would never let me get the dog fixed when it was younger because she wanted to breed her (which she never did) Oh well...
