Have we decided on a date then? My vote is for the August dates. I think we should start a list of who is planning on going when we decide a date so we can start organizing some camping fun! Robb and I can keep track of details.

If I know far enough in advance, my Wife and I would be in for this. We are headed to Lake Hope State Park tomorrow which is another great one. You can feed Hummingbirds there.

I'm not sure but I bet CrazyIvan would camp also.

Looks like the August date are a go for me at work. If most can make August 21-23, I'll start a list of participants.

If people are OK with a more "primitive" camping experience... maybe we could get a group camp site. I'll call tomorrow, but I can't believe the cost it's telling me online $31 a night? Seems high for a place to pitch a tent.

I think the $31 is for the whole group camp site. It is an excellent place (right on the mountain bike trail) has bathrooms and running water! It is also on top of a hill so there are good views of the stars at night.

August 21-23 at Mohican Group Camp sites are available. It would cost $90 for two nights. If there isn’t enough interest in everyone camping because some people will want to get a hotel and stuff, we could reserve the shelter house for Saturday afternoon and have a huge cookout.

Something to think about.

I'm going to set up the reservations today and will let those attending the cost for the site. Any last additions?

The cost will be $98 for the site for 2 nights. If the 7 minis signed up split the cost, should be about $14 per mini... well, since RigidJunkie wil only be a possible 1 night, it'd be a bit different, but you get the idea.

sounds good. I requested off at my bike shop for that weekend. I will probably talk to CrazyIvan tonight and see if he has his schedule nailed down yet.

I got my George Foreman camping grill all ready along with gazeboooo. Spawn is talking about skippin soccer scrimmage on Sat. so we should be there both nights

Is there an easy way to post a menu or at least organize food so we can each not have to bring tons of duplicate fud stuf?

Can't think of an 'easy' way... any thoughts on menu items?

One method of food prep could be that each MINI (family/group/etc) brings the prep for 1 meal (breakfast[sat, sun], lunch[sat, sun], dinner [fri & sat]). That works out to the 6 minis and if someone else ends up able to join us, we'll split things up. We might also want to consider bringing some "normal" such as Hot Dogs for the kids of the group...

We were thinking of bringing a dinner... we call it Red Rice, it's sausage, rice, salsa, etc (really good). Should be OK to cook ahead of time and then just heat it up over the fire/grill once there.

Starting to map out a route today at lunch (well, a little longer than lunch ) and hope to have things worked out later this week. I did find one place so far that looks interesting to eat if we want a 'non-campfire' meal on saturday night or something? Tried to find an ice cream stand, but mostly Google just returned dairy queen locations... anyone know of somewhere not quite so main-stream?

Finally, let's get a list of the gear each person plans on bringing, so we know what else we need.

Our Gear:
Cooler (if needed)
2 folding chairs
bocce ball set
coleman lantern (assuming i can get it to light again)
4 marshmallow roasting sticks
Cast iron "Chicken fryer"
Pie irons (could get a few from work if we want them)

We've got a tent, sleeping bags, cook gear, marshmallow/hot dog sticks, a lantern... basically everything we need for us. I might actually have a second, smaller (2 man?) tent as well if anyone needs one - lemme root around in the basement.

We have all the camping basics too. I'll also bring canopy 10' x 10' (aka gazeeboo) it has screened sides and quite useful to keep bugs out, since I'm guessing we may have buffet style meals Grill uses those "mini" propane tanks and we are all stocked up from our PIB trip last weekend. We have an Entenmann's bakery outlet by us so I can bring donuts just for the heck of it too

Well we have some gear.....
Sleeping bags
Chairs
Power Inverter
---- for any electrical needs.
and that's about it lol
We need a tent and a lantern would be nice too but I was thinking about just getting a new one.
Matt if you can find your old one that would be great too. If not it's okay I think I know where I can get an old used one for cheap anyways.
As for food, the menu idea is great.
Has anyone come up with any ideas for the menu? I was thinking about different things.

I'll get it down on paper and then I'll post a menu here later if that's okay.
