Eric's RiverRun contact info....
Eric Jones Memorial RIVERRUN
A sports car driving tour
Saturday, May 23, 2009
Eric's RiverRun is a 300+ mile, all day driving tour using some of southeast Ohio's most interesting & challenging roads. This year we'll go southeast through Woodsfield & down SR 536 to Hannibal on the river. After a picnic on the riverbank (recommended), we'll loop over SR 255 & SR 26 back to the river down through Marietta, north on SR 555 to Zanesville for a finish at Tom's Ice Cream Bowl or Clark's Dining Room in Jacksontown at SR 13.
Cars leave the Bob Evans at SR 256 & I 70 between 8 & 9am. We should be at the river around 12:30pm & finish by 6pm, depending on time spent sightseeing. There is no fixed schedule, nor any assigned speeds other than the posted speed limits. This is a tour rather than a rally.
The Buckeye Miata Club invites all driving enthusiasts, regardless of vehicle make, model or type, to join us on Eric's RiverRun 2009.
You may reserve your spot now. Contact Susan Logan at slogan.osu@gmail.com or (740) 363-2203 for more details & to reserve your spot. There is a $5.00 fee to cover organizational expenses.
All proceeds will be donated in Eric Jones' memory to The James Cancer Hospital for Mesothelioma Research Fund.

Bump to the top...
So... can someone follow behind me, just in case Fiona chooses this weekend to barf a rod?
If it's not raining, I'm bringing the classic!!
PS - please extend my compliments to whoever designed that flyer - I LOVE it. Eric would have... well, OK, he probably would have HATED it, since his grinning mug's all over it, but *I* think it's awesome.

The buddy system is a good one. You'll only need to carry enough spares for one Mini that way.
I'm not looking for rain
,especially since I plan to be in a roadster. But wet roads sure are challenging & fun to drive on. Rain-X FTW.

Checkout is finished.... =)
Today we did the final checkout of the RiverRun course. All roads are in fine shape with no detours or construction. YEA!!! If you come you should have a fun time.
The only problem we had was some guy who thought he was driving a race car & boy did he make it difficult to pass him.

120 entries as of this afternoon....
Sorry you can't make it Robb.
If there is enough interest maybe we could arrange a drive down there some other time, just with our MINI friends. Just a few friends staying on the right side of the yeller line. Good clean fun.

If my current plans work out Babs & I will be doing that some time in June as a anniversary drive.
It is hard to work with River Run on the mind. I changed my background to a GT3 on "the Ring" Car magazines web page has a bunch of ring stuff this week becasue they tested the GT-R vs. the GT 3 there, great pictures and video for those with free time.
