Well here's what happens when a deer meets a mini
Insurance companies cannot advise you to go to any one shop. What they do is give you a list of the shops in their preferred program, explain the program to you, and let you make the choice.
Almost all major insurance companies have similiar programs (ours, at State Farm, is called Select Service). And almost all of these programs offer a limited lifetime warranty on the repair work and wash and vacuum the cars when they're done.
Glad you had a good repair experience, wmdd.
And for the OP, glad you weren't injured more seriously. I travel through deer country for my entire 26 mile commute and consider it just a matter of time until I hit a deer at 60 mph. Glad to see the windscreen can hold up and the deer likely will not end up inside the vehicle.

Soninlaw has his MINI at Vic's which is where MAG sent it. Nationwide must have been ok with this; didn't require any other bids they are aware of. At least $3500 and counting (don't know extent until they dig into it). They were tapped on the left front end by a truck in a parking lot -- no damage to truck. Anyone have any knowledge of Vic's reputation? Last accident Nationwide sent them to International Collision and they were less than satisfied with the service.

My Outback was fixed in a week... well and a half day for a little spot they missed. Motorists was the company of the guy who hit my car. They were great. I used Automotive Services on Lincoln. They also did a great job. Total came to $1400 (on Motorist's tab) including a new alloy wheel, bumper cover and 4 wheel alignment.
