Did you purchase from MAG?
Don't be so quick to tell me not to be so quick...you've got your opinion, I have mine...based on my experience with one of the people he named, he's full of shirt. Obviously you didn't read or understand the two previous posts to yours.

Puppies! Kittens! Sunshine! ...... Donuts?

Anywho, a point I would like to make would be that auto salespeople seem to come and go like honey bees in a flower garden. I have had many deals where the initial sales person was not the ultimate seller of the vehicle. The last one occurred at MAG as a matter of fact. The latter MAG salesperson took great care of me but once the sale was done my interaction with that person is complete. There is a very high probability that if I go to MAG to purchase my next vehicle, the same salesperson will be nowhere to be found. A quality service department is and should be a place of high employee retention and customer service. After all, this is where the dealer actually pays the bills. I can buy a car anywhere, but great vehicle service can be hard to find. Back to a previous point in this thread, I would rather drive a distance to get great service than go local for mediocre service. So far MAG has taken care of me.
A diatribe about the atypical disconnection between the sales and service folks of any dealership is a conversation for another time. But it is probably directly related to my first point.

Unfortunately, I think what happens is the sales and finance departments is what gives a potential customer their first impression of the overall car dealership. There are a couple of dealerships in Columbus that I won't ever step foot into again because of this (even though I know people who have bought all of their cars from these dealers and couldn't be happier).
In the past I've never based my buying decision on the service department of a dealership because I've known that if I didn't like the service at one Mazda dealership, I could go to one of the other two or three in the area. Obviously this changes when you are talking about MINI and the fact that there are only three dealership in the entire state.

"Some say that the outline of his left nipple is exactly the same shape as the Nürburgring, and that if you give him a really important job to do, he'll skive off and play croquet... all we know is, he's called the Stig." - Clarkson
I was browsing posts on Classic and MAG and fell on this one. Since MAG had the exact 08 on the lot that I wanted (Everything minus stripes) I raced up there to get it. Erik called me after my message and I have to say that although I have only bought one car in my life besides MINI, Erik was horrible to work with. Called on a Wednesday and said I couldn't have it then because it was the only hardtop and they wanted people to test drive t. When I asked the mileage on the car he said "well... whats too much?" Um.. No.. I needed exact numbers. He was slow to call me back and when he said he would fax in an hour, two and a half later still no fax. However I did rip him a new one after speaking with Jason to see what the problem was (go figure.. then he called me back) My buyer survey would have been pretty negative but go figure, the sale instead went to Jason whom I had to give good feedback to. I am getting her serviced at Classic though so let me know your experiences!
Sorry you had problems, but happy you got your MINI. Why are you going to have your car serviced in Mentor instead of Dublin? Do you live up that way?
The stripes look nice on your car.

I'm sorry too that you had problems. I'm sure there is again, two sides to this story, but if you ended up happy and with a new MINI how bad could it really be? Please don't answer this with another slam...you've made your point. Happy Motoring
TOP GEAR...... ;-)
Anyone watch Top Gear?
I love all of the high tech exotic machines that they drive.
I'm buying my next car from THE STIG.
I'm also having him service it.

I was just at MAG over lunch (seems like the o-ring was bad on the oil filter they put on in May) and they have a CR/B JCW Clubman sitting in the showroom. It looks really nice! They also had one of those special edition 'verts with the Sidewalk package and JCW.
