River Run 2008 is a go..... =)
Thanks for the GREAT day, Chuck! We put around 500 miles on the car...got in at 8 tonight [a 14 hr. day], and I need gas again! Fortunately, the price around here dropped to around 3.90/reg. Kika and the dog slept all the way back...all's well that ends well!
Jason and I had a great time today!
It was fun to see our motoring buddies again and meet some new ones! Looking forward to the next trip, hopefully in our MINI by then.
Chuck & Barbara Thanks for being the Navigators!!! I know that is probably not fun or easy to keep us all in line!! Thank You!

With all those twists and turns that is probably pretty common. Hopefully she is feeling better and you two are ready for some more motoring soon!We got home around 7pm and had left around 7:??am, we had a fun day, but we were glad to be home! Not sure if we could have made it for the 14 hour day......we were so exhausted when we got home!!
Perfect day, great roads & a fabulous event! Glad I was FINALLY able to make this event! Great to see everyone!

We had a wonderful trip with Rick & Gina and Mike & Rose on the RiverRun. It was nice meeting the Kiminis and looking forward to seeing your new mini in person. Thanks for planning a nice motoring adventure. Here is a picture of the Patriotic Minis

River Run pictures are up..... ;-)
Thanks to everyone who came out & enjoyed the wonderful roads & great weather.
I have it on good authority that there were 93 cars. Quite a turn out I'd say.
I apologize to those who got separated from the rest of us. I wasn't too worried because I knew you had a set of great route instructions. When we saw you at Tom's I knew everything was all right.
I hope you enjoy the pictures that Barbara & I took.

Great pics everybody! And what a great day good roads and good friends and of course good ice creame at the end of the day!
Jan easiest thing to do with pics is put them in your galery and just tell us they are there, we can click on your galery and see them. Glad you found us, we need all the nice people with nice Minis we can get!

Great pictures everyone!! Thanks for posting them!!!
We ended up putting about 430 some miles on Saturday! We were pretty tired by the time we got home. We were suppose to go to my Parents that night, but we just didn't feeling like driving anymore.....Maybe if we had our MINI we would not get tired of driving...

I agree with Allen the more MINI's the merrier!!
Erik at MAG said the end of June, so hopefully that is close. Jason and I will have our 10th anniversary on June 20, so it would be nice to have around that time!! Then he could take me on a road trip!
Have a great week!!
Thanks Chuck for introducing us to the River Run it was a blast.
We will have to do it again next year. It was a nice sendoff for the BMW. Thanks guys for letting us join in with your Mini pack. I almost had forgotten just how agile and quick the Mini Cooper's are! Can't wait to get ours!
Was that 555 what they call the Salamander? Chuck you were right it was just as enjoyable as the Dragon if not more.
It was nice to see all of our old friends and it was nice to meet some new ones as well. We will be seeing you guys again soon!!

The salamander...... ;-)
Jason it was great fun being with you & Kim on River Run. I love that fine coupe you drove. Big power!!!! As far as you coming, along counterfeit MINI's are always welcome. At least yours had two MINI owners inside.
I don't have a name for SR 555, well maybe the fun time highway.
SR 255 is what Eric refers to as the Blind Crest Highway.
SR 536 is what I refer to as the salamander. It's not official, just this silverbacks nick name for a great road.
There are so many great roads down that way. I think a fall foliage drive down in the SE would be fun.

The final tally of Riverrun 2008
I just received this from Eric's wife Susan. It's the final stats from this years Riverrun. Can you imagine, 26 Miata's & only 11 MINI's.
Hello again,
In my first report on the Riverrun, I neglected to share that $300 of the registration has been donated to Canine Companions.
Secondly, several people questioned my list of entries and some questioned the math; in the first message, I did not list the car makes which had only one representative nor did I include the unknown count. There were unknowns because I neglected to secure the cars being driven when we were passing out the route instructions. The numbers have changed slightly as I learned what some of the unknown cars were.
