Obligatory OSU Thread
I can not beleive that nobody has said anything about the game last night. My .02 as a non-OSU fan:
The players got totaly screwed by the coaches. What a poorly called game by Tressel and his group. Why no hurry up in the 4th quarter? Why go for it on 4th down with 10 minutes to go and you just stopped them twice AND your punter is a demi-god. Why did they change the offensive calls for most of the 2nd and 3rd quarters (1st quater they had a really nice mix and kept LSU on their heels, then the middle of the game they became predictable and abandoned the spread run that was working early).
I thought speed would be a real issue in this game, but the OSU players showed that they could run with anyone, unfortunatly the coaches could not show that they could keep up with the LSU coaches.

I agree wholeheartedly. And the penalties were the pits. What was that all about? Too fired up? Angry?
Oh well... big picture is a team that is finishing in the top of the BCS stack consistently for the past few years. That is great. Room to improve and learn from the SEC and for the Big 10 to come up a couple notches? YES!
I didn't go to OSU, but after living here for 25 years, it is contagious.

I thought NAM would be the one place I could come and not have to think about the game. Here is my final thoughts on this season:
1) Big Ten was weak this season, which allowed a re-building OSU to win more games than I thought they would (I was thinking 9-3)
2) OSU backed into the NC game because of other teams losing. I never really thought that they were the #1 team in the country, but due to the timing of other team's losses it was almost impossible for the voters not to put them in that spot.
Final thoughts on the game:
1) LSU was the better team last night, but OSU shot itself in the foot with all the personal foul penalties and could have made it a much closer game.

Game should have been Georgia and Southern California. But that's the BcS for you. Remove the c to reviel the system of picking bowl games.

1. OSU needs to get rid of that MORON they call a defensive coordinator. For the secons straight year his stupidity has lost the game. You'd THINK a defensive coach who is supposed to be so smart would make some adjustments during halftime...no such luck, not for the last 2 years.
2. Someone needs to teach Coach Tressel how to run a clock when his team is losing. I have NEVER seen such a waste of time in between plays.
3. NO defense against the pass [refer back to item #1].
4. What's this running the ball in the 4th Qtr. when the team is down by 3 TDs? What happened to passing the ball to Saine like they did in the first half? He never got to run the ball at all and he's a running back that they decided to make into a WR. Beanie got pretty well bottled up after his big run...they shoulda thrown Saine in there to mess up LSU a bit with someone new.
5. The idiotic penalty incurred by running into the LSU kicker is what REALLY lost the game. OSU had a good chance to get the ball back with still enough time to score and get some momentum back, and they blew it. Then, "Iron Head" proved his head is REALLY iron [and his brains are, too] when he had yet another 15 yd. personal foul...making for a 30 yd. turnaround. LSU scored and that was the game.

The media was saying that OSU actually arrived at this game a year early, since so many younger players make up the team now. What difference does that make? Even if they make it back there next year, that same crappy defensive game-calling by that idiot Heacock and Tressel's wasteful clock management will make for yet another loss.
It's time to SCRAP this BCS crapola and bring on a Division I collegiate playoff system. They have it in all sports except in Div. I football, and the BCS is not fielding the teams that really deserve to be there.
