There will be a trip from Richmond to Virginia International Raceway (near Danville) for the Gold Cup Historic races and car show on Saturday, June 7, 2003. We will be leaving Richmond about 7:30 AM, stopping in Crewe, Va at my house for a buffet breakfast, then continuing down to the track to arrive around noon. There are 8 races scheduled for the day, from around 1 PM until shortly after 5 PM, including some which will have Minis (old ones, that is), along with the car show going on simultaneously. Lots to do, lots to see. The folks from NC went down there last week and had more than 100 Minis show up! Let's get the Central Virginia group back together and take a trip. Please RSVP so we know how many folks to expect for breakfast and where to meet in Richmond (depends upon how many cars there are and where they are coming from). Hopefully we can get lots of folks interested and plan some more events that day. The track is about 140 miles from Richmond, pretty much straight down 360, heading southwest.
