Update on JCW Option Arrival Here?
#1
Hi All-
Just a quick question to all of you concerning the JCW upgrade. Has anyone gotten an update as to when this option will be arriving at local MINI dealerships here in the States? I spoke with someone last month over at MINI of Sterling who informed me that, contrary to what we're all hearing on the Forums about it's eventual arrival, they have been told by MINI that it's not bound for the States at all (yeah, right ....even Edmunds.Com says otherwise). Any idea of a timeframe?
Thanks-
Tony

>>OK, I'll bite. What's the JCW upgrade ????
A special sports package for the Cooper and Cooper S, coming from the garages of the John Cooper Works company. Through some really neat engine modifications, the package will basically boost the bhp of the S from 163 up to nearly 200. Neat, eh?

>>My dealership told me next month! (Assael in Monrovia)
Really? Lucky you! Man, you guys in CA seem to be on the cutting edge of everything. It always seems we folks on the East Coast are last for it all
Anyway, let us know what else you may hear from the Left Coast in the coming weeks.
BTW - Here's the link to John Cooper's web site...it has the info re. the JCW specs et al.
Enjoy!

>>How much?
This is just speculation, but off the link that was previously posted to the Cooper Works site - the equipment alone would be $4,724.87 US. Their price for labor is $885.34 installed at JCW. That's probably significantly cheaper than any stateside Mini dealer would charge.
