Delaware Valley Pre-Gap Meet?
Hey folks,
For those of you in this neck of the woods: how would you feel about
getting together for a pre-Gap meet on Sat April 26? I'm thinking about
meeting at Washington Crossing Park in the late morning, hanging out,
kicking tires for a while, and then we can mount up and drive up River
Road (PA 32) to have lunch at The Ship Inn in Milford, NJ. For those who
aren't familiar with it, the Ship Inn is a British brew pub (owned by some
ex-pats, I believe) and the first brew pub in NJ. Great beer, and probably
some of the most authentic british eats around (bangers & mash, anyone?).
The drive is about 30 miles, and after lunch, folks could go their own
ways. We'll be passing by New Hope / Lambertville (where they just had a
"Zora Day" this past Saturday, honoring Lambertville resident and Joe
Millionaire love interest... Zora!
) Anyway... New Hope seems to be a
popular tourist area, if that helps persuade anyone to go.
Anyway... lemme know what y'all think...

I would gladly be there for this but I am already committed to "Cooter's Run" down in Virgina that day. If you do this again please be sure to repost! Sounds like you guys would be having a ton of fun
Hey guys... I'm thinking that we meet between 10 and 11 am at Washington Crossing park (on the NJ - just accross the bridge). After 11 we can muster the troops and take the drive up River Road.

This is a wonderful idea! Count us in! I've heard this is a great ride and I've heard nothing but good things about The Ship Inn. The time sounds good, lunch is served between 11:30 - 4pm on Saturday. It provides a small menu choice but the prices are lower. The do recomand calling ahead for reservations so once we have a feel for a head count then we can call and warn them we are coming. Then firm up the reservations before we leave Washington's Crossing so they can have the room ready for us when we arrive. (Can you tell my wife is some what of a party planner) Is this going to be a rain or shine thing? I'm always worried about getting rained out. Here's the website for the Ship Inn so you can look at the menu.
Yummy, Shepard's Pie and Fish and Chips!

Thanks for the info John!
Yeah... I don't know why brit food gets a bad rap - the food at the Ship Inn is wonderful! Never had anything I didn't enjoy. My favorite used to be the steak and kidney pie, but they took it off the menue and replaced it with steak and mushroom pie. Bummer... they got me hooked on it and then took it away!
Not to mention the desserts! Every once in a while they do something called "Chocolate Nemesis" - it's a flourless chocolate cake, and after one bite, your definitely going to hell! I usually finish off a meal there with one of their desserts and a pot of french press coffee. Mmmmmm.... can't wait!

Oh... at this point, I'm thinking rain or shine. We can't move it to Sunday, because there is the annual meeting of the Nortons (brit motorcycles) happenening then, and they do meet at the same place(s) we are planning.
As of right now they are calling for rain but it is still early in the week, things can change. Still will be cool. Washington's Crossing has a lot of tree cover so we might not even get wet when we are kicking tires around if it is raining light enough.
