The one of the first big sucessful auto country clubs is just outside Chicago; if it weren't for that 30k buy in I could easily make it worth while, just go every weekend and one or two afternoons and its failry easy to get the daily cost under $100, which is very cheap as far as track time goes.

Actually its 33K buy in but at 4K/year for 9 months ... that only $450/month. I bet your MINI payment is more than that!!!

Its just that initial $33K thats a killer Man, to be rich, you wouldnt have to worry about any organized crap .... just go when you feel like it and crank it up!

Actually the MINI payment is much closer than you might think, my local club has a waiting list though so I'd have time to work out the finacing. hmmmm.

Hmm, let me see, where I live there are 8 tracks within driving distance. Each of them has at least one track day a month all year long that I can do for about $225 each. Or I can pay the equivalent of 145 trackdays in advance and then be locked in to paying for 17 trackdays a year at the same track, use them or not. Okay I think I figured it out.

Ok a few things
1) Where is willow Creek Hollow, I think I may need to move?
2) I only have two tracks (and one is a coutry club) that wouldn't require me to get a hotel the night before the event.
3) I can get much much more time on the track, with realitively low traffic levels
4) I'll soon be working a job that'll have me working graveyard shift, which means during the week if I felt up to it I could up and go to the track for half a day with little to no notice.
5) I'd use as much time as possible at the track, well over 17 visits.

Course I'm an exception to the rule but minus a waiting list and the inital buy in, the annual fee is very worth it for me.

If the initial fee included a track ready Mini it would be a good deal.

I live in Dublin, California. It is where I580 and I680 intersect east of the San Francisco Bay.

Distances to the tracks are:

55 to Sears Point
99 to Laguna Seca
151 to Thunderhill
216 to Buttonwillow
258 to Reno Fernley
323 to Willow Springs
393 to Fontana
527 to Pahrump Spring Mountain

I like the variety and the riff raff can be entertaining.

I do have to pay for a motel and leave work early to get to some places.

If I wasn't working I think I would tour the country and do my own Race Across America.

If I work another day at a Pro Motorsports event in Phoenix, I'll get a free track day!

ok now imagine being able to drive Laguna Seca any time you felt like unwinding and heading to the twisties for a little bit. With a membership it can become an I'll cut the grass then head to the race track for the afternoon mentality, something that is very appealing, rather than counting down for weeks to get the chance to HPDE.

But more than that, Laguna Seca is about 2 miles? This track is 4 miles ... and I bet the straights are longer

Thats looks like a new race track. Alpine is not a race track where races occur, but rather is a race track for use by its members, privately ... You pay your money and have unlimited use ...

That is a huge difference but hope you get your track
