I am relocating to the chesapeake / virginia beach area at the end of November. I am looking for comments, opinions and recommendations on local mechanics, the MINI dealer in Va Beach, and maybe some favorite local drives?

You can go to Yahoo Groups and look for HRclubMINI. That is where you can get most of the local information. We have a drive scheduled this weekend in the mountains in the western part of Va. That should be a lot of fun. This area is very flat but some good roads are near by. Make sure you post when you get here. See ya later !

Hi Rob, and welcome almost to the area!

Frank Lindsey at Checkered Flag MINI in Va Beach is the main Service Advisor for MINI here, and he's very very good. He's won best in the country in fact. Their whole dept is impeccable IMO.

And yeah, Don definitely knows the secret-cool back roads in Chesapeake we've had a few tire screeching high-whine drives back there in horse country!

actually summitpoint is no where close to Cheaspeake. VIR would probably be a lot closer FYI

Checkered Flag Mini/BMW service is great so far,

And I will be glad to have a fellow NAM member in the area

 

Here it is! The movers loaded all my stuff, then let me drive the MINI right onto the class 2 truck. We strapped her down at the frame and put the cover on her. She rolled off again in Virginia Beach with no problems at all!

Holly... yeah, most of the local events we do post on the yahoo group. We're very casual and loose.. anytime someone wants to get together for a drive or meet and greet just says where and when and ppl show up!
