Driving in PA question

I'm going to drive from Ohio to NY and of course most of it will be through PA. 80 is the logical way to go but in the past I found this to be a pretty monotonous drive. Does taking 70/76 then hitting 220 through Altoona make any sense? I could avoid some of 80 at least. Anyone know what 220 is like? Any other thoughts?
