the thing that really bothers me is these non-buyers, that has nothing to do with this car, throwing educational speeches here such as how much the car should be, car being out of warranty, blah, blah, blah.... YOU HAVE NO F..... BUSINESS UNLESS YOU ARE A BUYER. Nobody is stupid, and nobody needs your education, if it is high they will negotiate, if the car doesn't sell, the seller will drop the price....

Please strengthen your personalities, before this community.

lilgto,

I am a non-buyer but am offering support. I too am working on selling a MINI for over its blue book value. It is very possible, just probably not on NAM. As you've noticed, they're a little cocky here. Worst of all they are educated in its blue book value and already have MINI's so dont realize the "wow a clean MINI for sale right in front of me" markup. Try vehix.com or autotrader.com. I have gotten far more contacts from vehix, all females who are trading in their junkers for something newer and reliable. And none of them wil care about the performance mods. Good luck, it will sell evenuaully if you are very patient and flexible.

I am a buyer! Are you? No? Then maybe YOU should get off this thread. Being a buyer, I want to know if I'm getting a good deal or not.

How are we to know it is too high if we don't have those guys help point it out. Of course, I check KBB and Edmunds, but what about those who don't know to check?

This guy has every right to sell his car for whatever he wants, but if he's going to do it on an open forum, he's going to get called out. That's the nature of an open forum. If he doesn't want this type of feedback, he needs to sell it somewhere else.

Sound like the pot calling the kettle black. Your negativity towards the negativity on this thread is equally as offensive.

BTW. Here's a free bump. Good luck with the sale.

Listen, there really are some regular *******s out there that will bash your car or a simple part you are selling. It is not your or my job to educate the NAM on the prices, it is simple, demand meets supply which is the market value. Let the buyer and seller determine the price, not us, people who has no business with the product. You see where I am coming from? Answer this question, what would happen if you were selling your car? If it is extremely clean, and nicely kept, you might ask more for it? if it sells it sells, if not, you lower the price. THERE IS NO NEED FOR EDUCATION, here
Finally, DickDavis, since you are a buyer, instead of wasting your breath to me (because you can not convince me a tall, YOU ARE WRONG), why don't you grab the ***** and tell the same things to the seller? Maybe you get yourself a deal (since you are a buyer).

PS: this is a discussion forum, however, if you want to carry this out, which i don't see a need for it, please pm me.

Thanks for keeping the thread alive...more people viewing the car along with the BS. I am the guy selling the car, not LilGTO.

I am a member of the automobile press...former magazine publisher, ad sales guy and technical writer. I know a little about the enthusiast community...

The car is indeed part of a collection. A collection of highly valued musclecars, road racing cars, exotics and more. The collection owners love cars and are noted car personalities who provide marketing information to the major manufcaturers. They are not hacks and thier cars are all driven and meticulously maintained.

If you are reading this post and in search of your car, I wish you luck. There is a buyer for every car.

Bash on boys...

What about buyer beware? This is the online forum version of it.

You want to have your voice online but others have to hold their opinions? Doesn't seem fair. Does it?

You are correct, but you are also missing the point. It's not the price that is wrong, it's his choice of marketing venue. It's like me going to a farm selling old eggs for the price of new ones. The farmer's son might not know this is expensive, but he sure is glad his father let him know. On the other hand, those same eggs will sell well down the street at Tom Thumb.

Personally, I wouldn't try to sell a marked up MINI on this forum. I'd try my luck where the buyers and their peers aren't as informed.

You have a good argument until you get offensive and insulting. It makes your opinion sound immature and it weakens your position.

Thanks to the good folks on this board, I am an educated buyer and know that when warranty is a big factor, a deal like this isn't right for me. Maybe somebody else, but not me. I wish the seller luck.

Where's the fun in that? Folks, including myself, love a little drama and a good debate. Plus the seller can get a free bump.

My position is very irrelevant at this point. I have nothing to prove to people like you. You are only speculating here, and your conversation is not going nowhere honestly, i think you are full of it.

that shows your real intention and corrects my thoughts.

Thread Locked

The thread has totally devolved past the point where a potential buyer could really get a word in edgewise and have a discussion with the seller. Clearly the pricing struck a nerve here. If the seller wants to take that under advisement and post the car for sale again, they are welcome to.

Kudos to everyone that took the opportunity to welcome the new members to NAM in this thread before going to town with the tough love.
