Giving an 'up' for a sweet deal. This one looks very well put together.
If only this had happened four months ago...a better spec with nice mods and cheaper!
GO through an Escrow Company. This way the Buyer has to put down a certian non refundable amount (This will show that he is serious), He checks over the car when it arrives and if all is good the rest of the money gets transferred to you Jlm. The escrow company will also recommend a good shipping company as well.
what if I end up with the car on the other coast and it is refused? the non-refundable amount would have to be enough to cover escrow costs and shipping both ways! that's around $2,500, not to mention time and wear and tear. then i still have to sell the car and it is three weeks later.
this must be a common problem for e-bay car sales. seems tricky
The Classic MINI folks (NAM sponsor) in Ohio might be able to provide tips. They seem to sell a lot of cars to far away states. Granted, they are not a private party, but you generally hear good things about the people and their service.
I hope you make it work John. Poor car must feel unwanted, sniff, sniff!
