Lets see. I buy one then ship it to you for free. That sound right. If you want it buy it. Why rip off the designers and supplier? My 3 year old grand kid has more class. Buy the way I believe if you check you will find out the Shark marries the ECU on its first use. Guess Jim C. saw you coming.

As someone who has worked directly for, thus livelihood dependent on, a software company for 16 years, this thread drives me completely crazy
Many people have the idea that, oh well, it's just something I can copy from someone else, no big deal. Developing software is an EXPEN$IVE operation. There is lots of financial risk not to mention blood, sweat and tears. It is EXTREMELY common for developers to work 80 hours a week or more to get things done and get their product on the market. They deserve fair compensation for such efforts as do the companies that risk capital so that others can have jobs. If they win, sure, they win big. If they lose, it means many folks find themselves all of a sudden unemployed. I have experienced both of these scenarios, you know "The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat." The problem is that the agony of defeat means that your whole family sees hard times when you have no income for an extended period of time.
Software piracy is a BIG reason for such things happening. You might not feel that you are stealing or doing anything to hurt anyone. I've heard all sorts of things that people say to justify this in their minds like "oh well, I wouldn't have bought one anyway."
This is why there is much software these days that is secured in some way. In my industry, our software products often cost $10,000 per copy and provide such value to customers that they often find it a bargain. Since it is so expensive there are some really complex security mechanisms to eliminate or at least minimize piracy.
Whatever industry you might be in. Let's say you work for a company that makes toasters. What if your company sold a toaster that someone could simply copy on a copy machine and give it or sell it to someone else. Does this sound like your company would be in business for long? Honest people would go buy one of your toasters if they needed one. And other honest people might take the free toaster without giving any thought to those who might be unemployed as a result.
As far as the shark injector and other such products go, it will only work for the car that it was purchased for. Good news for the folks that risk capital and their employees jobs to provide these products. Otherwise they would be out of business or in another business in short order.
If you want an ECU reflash, research the market, choose the one you want and know that it cost someone a lot of money to develop it. You're not paying a bunch of money to someone who got it for free out of thin air. They need business to make profit and profit to make a living for themselves and their employees.
You might also want to think about this the next time someone offers you a copy of a computer game, a PC application, etc for free. If everyone was trying to get something for nothing there would be no motivation for those with the entrepreneural spirit that make the system work so that there are jobs for those willing to roll their butts out of bed every morning and go to work.
End of lecture. Sorry for the rant.

Nice response, actually. In this world of quick-and-easy internet downloads via broadband, people get seduced at the ease of which they can acquire virtually any MP3, program or file.
It is just wrong. That is why the original Napster was rightly taken down. That is why I happily buy music from Apple's iTunes music store--ensuring that the artists and yes, even the sleazy record company exectives, still get their share. For only 99 cents per song, how can I complain?
So I agree with you. To the originator of this thread, don't be lazy and/or cheap; pony up the cash, and buy the Shark injector yourself. You need to get your own anyway, because once one of these has been used on a MINI, it is really only effective for that MINI from then on.
