I saw an auction for 17 inch MCS rims and run flats starting at $1000. I don't think anybody ever bid though. Possibly the price was to high?..?
When I finally get to place an order I am going to stick with the standard 16 inch wheels. From research I have done it looks like the car was optimised for performance on the 16's. At first I did not like their look but they look pretty nice to me now. I am also wanting something that will be cheaper to buy tires for in the future.

Here's a suggestion - but I don't know you'll like it - keep the stock wheels and put some money into driving schools. Guaranteed to get performance from any car you get into and will certainly effect your MINI performance more than any wheels you apply to the car.
I plan on keeping mine bone stock and will attempt to hit at least a couple BMWCCA, MBCA, FCA, PCA, etc. driving schools.
