the fitment on the diamond racing scoop is perfect, so that is not a problem. i just cant see throwing away money on something you can buy elsewhere for cheaper and that is not on a group buy. i would like to talk to diamond or froge and see if they would do a group buy to get it even cheaper. i am not trying to knock anyones products but money is money. the more i can keep in my pocket the better.

Good points, though I must stress that you are buying two completely different products which do the same thing. If you ask anyone who is familiar with Carbon Fiber, they will tell you that you get what you pay for in most cases. You may pay less right now, but how much are you going to pay when the scoop yellows, or one of the attachments underneath cracks off and the scoop starts vibrating? Yes, most carbon fiber will turn slightly yellow in the sun, however by using a low resin content in the pre-preg, you can prevent this to a large degree. We use both low resin pre-preg, and a UV resistant finishing material to give the absolute best UV yellowing protection possible.

In any event, the group buy has reached 17 people and we have decided to just lower the price to the flat rate of $199 for the scoop, $139 for the mirror covers, and $30 for the caps. If you order the caps with either the scoop or the mirror covers, shipping on everything is free. If not, shipping follows the original plan.

Regards,

-Dan

does the mirror covers replace the covers already on the mirrors? or are they covers over what the factory gave us (overlaying the black or white on the mirrors)?
thanx

The mirror covers are a hard shell removable overlay. They attach with thin pre-applied adhesive.

I'm interested in the carbon fibre hood scoop group buy, but before I commit, I was wondering if you guys also do custom work. I'm looking for 2 carbon fibre strips to place around the rear bumper grills (the areas are highlighted in green in the pic). Can you tell me if you're able to fabricate it? And if so, how much?

Could be done, however Carbon Fiber work is rarely one-offs. An expensive mold must be made (Ranging from $1000-5000 and beyond) per piece, after which any CF manufacturer is going to want a minimum order of 50 or so units. What's the concensus??? If you guys think this would sell we would definately look into it. True custom CF work of the quality of our scoops/mirror covers/caps is very expensive and hard to come by for one-off items. A cheap CF place which does wet-layup over factory parts may be able to wrap a factory item for you for around $500.

Hey guys, hope you all had a great 4th of July weekend!!!

Most participants in the GB have paid already (thank you), so it looks like we will begin shipping by the end of this week. We wanted everyone's items to go out together, and the people who have ordered silver scoops/covers are being built today through Wednesday. I will compile a group email shortly and update people. When your items ship, you'll receive notification.

Regards,

-Dan

Update: Most of the paid participants' items will ship on Friday. You'll be emailed tracking numbers.

Thanks for your participation!
