So…. I bought the guards for the z3 - I was able to get a set 2 years ago. Yes, the Mini ones have been NLA for years. I’ll be near the car next week. I’ll take a pic. I think they are fine ( I gambled based on wheel diameter, that the curve was close ).

 

I had them on my old r53. I shortsightedly tossed them when they started to warp. This is what they looked like on.

If someone has them and wants to donate a 1:1 scan from a copy machine and I’ll design a template so they can be cut from vinyl. Happy to share the template here.

I have aero skirts now, so I’m not sure what it’ll look like when it’s not butt up against black on 2 sides bht worth a shot. I was also thinking I could integrate a black line to run along the base of the door if I needed more continuity. It’s probably look a little more like the old ‘80s 930.

i did inquire with a friend who has a set new in package…but he’s in Canada, and figured you wouldn’t want to pay the thieves looking for tariff funds. Especially as you’re really just looking to template them.

That is the Z3 / and how it looks. I could not figure a way to trace it - I need at least a 11 x 17 paper.

Thanks for sharing, Noodles. I think with Jonny’s help I’ve tracked down a set that I can use to make a template of. As soon as I do, I’ll post it up on NAM.

Nice find! $42.95 a pair isnt bad at all. If you look at Noodles’ car with them fitted, the contour around the vinyl doesn’t follow the same radius. It’s pretty close!

I’d still prefer the Mini version and don’t mind investing in getting done in vinyl. People can run them in clear or colors if they chose. It will be cheaper to reproduce, and the magnetic ones I had warped over time and trapped dirt underneath.

 

Ebay has a bunch of Vinyl version and a Z3 Magnetic set listed too.
I was contemplating getting the Z3 type and then using a stencil first to outline and then trace the mark with a knife to cut the side to match the contour better.
Some PPF might be a better option though.
