Description:
My wife and I are looking for a low-miles 2005-'06 R53 (hatchback) JCW to replace a MINI we once ordered from the factory.
We do NOT want the chrono pack (we love the quirky center speedo), but we are flexible on most options. The ideal car would have the LSD and aero kit, and it will be mostly or completely unmodified (i.e., as original as possible).
We're willing to pay a premium for the right car, and it will be treated VERY well. Anywhere in the continental US is fine.
Thanks for your consideration!
Bump. I’ve had some amazing conversations over the past week with those of you that have reached out after seeing this post and/or my “hunting” on Bring a Trailer. Thank you!
Still seeking the right late R53 JCW. If you’re ready to send yours on to a good “forever home”, let’s talk!

The silver one currently on Bring a Trailer has the Chrono pack. Looks like that’s the one deal breaker from the original post above.
Otherwise it checks all of the boxes and is a nice example.

@Jonny and @JackMac - Thanks for your responses. I have indeed been watching that current BaT listing. Pure Silver doesn't really do anything for me, but the car has a lot of positives (VERY well optioned, nice leather seats, great wheels, JCW grille, and low miles. It has a lot of paint chips, and one of the wheels has some defects, but they are minor and could be touched up professionally. Oxidation looks relatively minor on underhood bolts, aluminum, and underneath. If this car was Hyper Blue, Chili Red, BRG, or even Dark Silver, I'd probably be going after it (even with the chrono pack).
Starting to debate whether to hold out for the Hyper Blue JCW 'unicorn' or compromise...perhaps the search is just getting started.

😈 I’m with you on the Hyper Blue. It will show up when you least expect it. At least now we know your color preferences.

You probably would have liked this one I sold a little while back... I still regret getting rid of it... Great spec...

Patience is key, especially if you know what you want. Though becoming harder to find with each passing year.
Will keep an eye out for you and relay any which match your preferences here in this thread.

I’m now trying to decide if I should open my mind to an N18-equipped 2012-‘13 R56 JCW, or possibly a JCW Coupe. Thoughts from this that have owned both? I’m worried about missing that supercharger whine. Anyone twincharge an R56?
I've owned them stock and I've owned them highly modified and either way , I prefer r58 ANYDAY..
12 JCW Coupe MANUAL, 80K looks as nice as a Coupe can.
I do not know the car nor the owner:

here's mine.. imo. Go check out an r58 , atleast take it fir a drive and see how it feels for you. as good of a road feel as the r53 provides the r58 is better...
And if it has the hk sound system, it sounds AMAZING in that small cabin , youd think it had a underseat subwoofer.
The N18 JCW was only available in 2013. I’ve owned a lot of them. I am considering another as well but finding a good one is honestly harder than finding a good r53 JCW. I never liked the backwards baseball cap R58…so you might have better luck if you are considering one.
Beautiful..

So...I did a thing and bought a 2012 JCW Coupé, 46k miles, fully loaded (all packages and options plus R113 red stripe wheels, JCW extractor, and more). I'll be picking it up in a week or so. Yes, I know it's an N14. I'll baby it. I'll continue looking for the elusive R53 JCW. But I'm hoping to have a lot of fun while I'm waiting!
Awesome ride!

Pics are mandatory once acquired!
100%! I pick it up on Friday (hopefully). I've done a little digging, and I think this was one of the first hundred or so JCW Coupés to hit our shores. Hence the (very) well equipped spec and White Silver Metallic / Red exterior, which was the "hero" scheme. Might have also been a "showroom queen" for a bit to tease potential buyers with the possibilities (hence JCW extras)...I'm still tracking down the original dealer and working on that info, as the car's early history is spurious. But it's a fun expedition for me to be embarking on.
Glad you rescued this special car and are sparing no expense to bring it back to life! Don't understand how some of these special edition cars become so neglected! Congrats again!
