Mini R53: "Mk I" Mini Cooper S 2002 - 2006
Description:

Hello all, you may have seen me sell this from my mini and here it is with more detailed pictures.

It has about 500 miles. No warping as I got it checked by my machine shop near me since I had a blown head gasket. What broke is an intake valve and a spark plug. The chamber on cylinder one is definitely scratched up but from what I can see the other 3 valves sit perfectly with no leaks. Now for the spark plug the threads are stripped. You can rethread it no doubt. Reason I don’t just rebuilt it is because I’ve spent so much and I’ve honestly just given up on the car which is why I’m parting it. It should not cost you a lot to fix since you just need a new intake valve, rethreading of the spark plug and that’s it! Intake and exhaust ports where not damaged. My piston head were punctured through but my cylinder walls are perfect. Not one scratch. As you can see the exhaust side is completely black because my gasket was blown. It was broken way before the head went.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Shipping only in the states. Buyer must pay full shipping

I have the head all packed and ready to ship! Just let me know

I hope you don’t take offense to this but, that head is 2,750.00 brand new and to fix the one your selling would cost a couple hundred dollars if it works plus the time it take to find a shop, drop it off, pick it back up. Your really not saving much over a new one with no problems . You may want to lower your price to a level that would make it worth buying over a new one. Again , no disrespect intended.

After pricing the preplacment parts and labor barring better pics I will offer you 200 usd but to me it needs more than a single cylinder of valves. Good luck. Pm me if your interested. Its a core price offer but it needs welding etc. The entire bowl needs to be welded and re shaped were the valved smashed into it multiple times.

500 miles and the valve let go? Where's your warranty as if one let go what about 15 other? The $200 is not really off although that sucks for you.

I had Jan put the same BIg Valve head with cam, header and injectors. Car ran like a Banchee. I decided to sell after 200 miles. Maybe I dodge a bullet. This is why I took car to his shop and had him do all the work. So if anything went wrong it would be covered. I consider doing all the work myself and just buy the parts from him but he said he wouldn't be responsible for any damage to head. His labor rate was cheap. So he did it.

From posts there was a time when Jan did not have a licensed auto repair shop but I don't know if he ever complied. Its odd that installing rockers would cause a valve to come loose but then he is good at coming up with ways to blame anybody but himself.

I'd think the valves n springs are worth 200$ alone.. You'd only need 1x and you'd have a full set of oversized upgraded valves and springs...imo I'd think 350$ is fair on both ends..
valvetrain stuff can add up fast..
