Is this car still available? I can't believe it would be around after all this time. Just lost my Liquid Yellow 2003 S in a hailstorm and am looking to replace it. Does this car have any fault codes? I'm in Washington state so if I bought it, I would drive it back. Are you confident I would make it?

 

Hello, so actually I decided to keep the car not long after posting this ad, but I just recently decided to put it up for sale again. There aren't any fault codes. I just replaced the passenger side axle as one of the CV boots was starting to leak, and while I was at it I also replaced the serpentine belt drive with a Continental unit as the tensioner had been making an occasional squeak when the the clutch was engaged too quickly from a dead stop. I don't have any reason to believe it would not make the cross country trip. It does have a bit more miles on it now - 89,000 and change. @CW_Esq , great looking car! How did you attach the aluminum gas pedal to the stock BMW plastic pedal? I bought a similar one, and the aluminum was straight, but the stock pedal was curved!

 

I can't tell from the photos; does it have the sliding sunroof?

 

Thanks! So you say the stock pedal was "curved," do you mean that the stock pedal (metal looking part) is oval shaped, right? The Rennline aluminum one attaches over top of the stock assembly including parts that appear to be metal and parts that appear to be plastic. But if by "curved" you mean the stock pedal isn't flat, I'm not sure, maybe you already have some sort of aftermarket one??

 

It does have the sliding sunroof. It works perfectly, and has the shades and everything, but I still didn't like the amount of light that came through even with the shades in place. So there's a custom decal in place atop the entire sunroof glass (both front and back pieces, separate decals of course). It made a big difference and a friend with a red '06 ended up doing the exact same thing with his car shortly after I did mine!

Hi all! Just letting you know that life circumstances have changed and since this is basically an extra car, it unfortunately needs to go soon.
