Description:
If your looking to get rid of your sprintext kit message me and let's work something out...I will also consider a ported sc ( has to be hella ported )....
what went wrong with your sprintex , was it bought new or used ?
Tvs900's price, your far better off going turbo instead for that money.
I'd love a tvs but no way I'd pay the price they're asking for them...

well besides its already on a reduced pulley from the start...
i never bought a shitex because i watched as mini as well as jeep owners grenaded one after another... they are trash... all they do is produce more heat than boost...
a TVS is a better idea over turbo... because with the TVS kit its already ready to bolt to the car... after you are done changing **** and cramming everything for the turbo in the engine bay you would have spent more than the TVS...
so you would spend money on a sprintex... then after you grenade it along with the engine you would have spent more than just buying the TVS... and majorly ported SC's dont provide any benefit... so really just stick with the stock SC or go TVS... and a properly built turbo setup will set you back more than a TVS

oh and btw... there is a sprintex survivors group post somewhere on NAM as well as on FB... they claim they will take you from 162 to 197 hp... hell my old R53 go to about 220whp with just bolt ons, cam, injectors and tune and i was just running a 15% pulley... the amount of money you would dump into just making the Sprintex functional would end up being served on other parts

sure there's been ones that went bad just as stockers did and how many u think were caused from user error or bad install and they just quickly blamed the sprintex for the failure ??? Unless you have personal, 1st hand experience with it I wouldn't go knocking it. And hey? If these kits are this unreliable, someone should hurry up and get theirs off their engine and swap it out with my newer rebuilt stock sc setup and some cash then...
and that 30hp gain yea it isn't much and you can get 30hp much cheaper and easier BUT once you've done all those mods , these are the only areas for improvement.

Lets see where do i begin... thumper head... ns1 cam... yea lets complete the trifecta of no power by adding the biggest grenade of a supercharger... there is an entire series of threads on this very site of the various failures of the sprintex... to the point where companies stopped promoting them or carrying them... and sprintex were using members as guinea pigs trying to fix these kits... never worked... in fact many years ago at the dragon an owner brought his spintex mini to prove it was superior... the supercharger failed and had to be towed home...
and its really hard to blame user error or install when every single failure of the supercharger was the same... they generate an insane amount of heat and basically cook themselves... and they heat soak like crazy and couldnt even survive a single track day
now did i ever buy one? nope because why would i waste that much money on a supercharger that gave me less power than a series of bolt ons and a tune that cost less... plus watching for years as people struggled to make these things work... throwing untold amounts of money trying different belt tensioners, pulleys, etc etc but could never make them work... and yet could never make the same amount of power... one tuner in the us was the very first the test them before sprintex sold them... they strapped one on and took it to the track... didnt even last the day before it got so hot it locked up...they told sprintex it was no good... they went ahead and put them on sale... and the rest is infamy... hell i know of at least 1 kit that is currently a desk toy and was never installed

I've just seen alot of great things get thrown to the wolves over the years from bad misinformation... buuuuuuuut you guys are much more educated than I am with these cars and engines n stuff...this is why I'm humble enough to say " I'm wrong "
if you search sprintex on here you will find them... for years people tried to make them work... of course you have one or two that claim they are the greatest and never fail... but mostly those are the ones who were too prideful to admit it was a failure...and then came the infamous bs about the M62 supercharger... that was tried and failed as well... they just could never make them fit right or really work... there is a reason why the M45 was chosen by MINI... the reason why people push the TVS is because it was heavily researched by companies like Harrop and RMW just like the research into other options like the Rotrex... there have been back and forth's on this forum and M/A about the development, testing and sales of these kits....is the TVS more expensive? sure... but thats because you are not only paying for a quality supercharger (the TVS is the same charger that comes stock on cars like the ZR1 Corvette just larger) by Eaton but also a designed kit for things like the water pump... and has the option to convert the pulley system to a 8 rib which is a much more stable platform
there is nothing wrong with doing things in a less expensive way... just be forewarned that some options fail and cause issues that will end up costing more down the road than just doing it right once... plus this forum is a wealth of info on setups that work and what hasnt... and really its not great things being thrown to the wolves... it was companies or people claiming they had the greatest product ever... getting people to buy in... then it breaks and gets thrown on the ash heap of bad ideas... then it seems every couple of months or years these same products reappear... and starts the cycle all over again
