Hello
Thanks for the all Reply´s

No issues with the throttle body, right? If nobody had problems, I goes to Dinan.

If somebody had more opinions on throttle body, I appreciate.

Best Regards

If you do some search's here on NAM I think you will find that there has been very little performance gain from a larger throttle body. From information I have read it is definately not in the top five for $ vs gain.

MTH Tuner File

BlwnAway,

I have the tuner file and decided to put the original JCW stock software back.

here is why:

1. the "yo-yo" effect became even more noticeable. I would call it more like increased surging.
2. Customer support was just fair: I sent the file back to be modified after the car going into limp mode (long story). File came back with little difference.
3. After installing stock software, I realized that the stock software was actually pretty good. Any enhancements from the MTH are neligeable.
4. Cant sell the tuner file: If you are not satisfied with the product you cant return it or better yet, sell it!

Overall, I think that even if you dont notice the problem I had, any performance gains will be minimal at best.

If you do get it, let me know how it turns out for you.

Regards,

MiniBull

for the doubters about JCW hp, my wifes dyno:

173.8 whp, just after break-in, using 15% drivetrain loss, thats 205 crank hp, but consider that this was immediately after break-in. I see no reason NOT to believe the 207 hp figure. . .

RubyRed, does your wife's car have the CAI flap removed or always open? There is no bump in Tq or HP on the dyno you posted, although there is a DROP in A/F at around 4,200. Weird, or am I just not reading the A/F right?

Yea I decided to go ahead and give it a shot, cable is being shipped as we speak, so I figure about a week and a half till I actually get it done (with file turn around and all) so we'll see what happens, I am especially looking forward to having that little extra RPM, because of the Throttle body change the car absolutely pulls hard right up to the top, and I feels like it still wants to go farther, so the extra rpm will be interesting to me. I'll be sure and post my results. No dyno though it will just have to be seat of the pants opinion.

Hello
BlwnAway: Do you recommend the Dinan Throttle Body, right? No issues, I made a search and many users had EML light on when put the large Throttle Body!!! I do not want this!!!

What do you think about Alta Top Mount Intercooler Classic? I know DFIC and Alta V.2 are the best IC of market... but I would be grateful if had some information on Alta Top Mount and if anyone have some photographs installed in the car, I´m thankful...

Thanks everyone
Best Regards

I bought an used top mount Alta here and my opinion its thin and larger than stock. You can find one for sale every so often here, I thought there was one just posted? Its like the GP JCW ones selling for $625+ . I see the thick direct flow types having problems with
one;cooling air does not like to go through thick cores
two;the cooling air gets hot as it passes through and does little good by the time it gets to the other side.
three they cost alot
You have to understand these are just my opinions

I've had no problems with mine at all, Ive had it for about 6,000 miles now with no issue's. As far as the EML light who knows? maybe there is an issue with one of the very much larger Throttle Bodies? (some of them offered are as big as 62mm or more) with the Dinan you are going from 58mm to 59.75. But also I would say that this might be another reason to go Dinan and have it dealer installed, of course check with them first but when I had mine done they assured me there should be no problems and were willing to stand behind their claim.

If I paid the $$$ for the JCW package, I definitely wouldn't modify the engine for more power and lose the warranty.

However, for the JCW owners that want more power that don't care about warranty issues, I would say an aftermarket header w/ 2% crank pulley is the best way to go. I definitely noticed a satisfyable bump in midrange torque and power when I installed each of them separately on my regular MCS.

Right... the JCW is at 210 BHP not at the wheels.. 170-180 (SAE Corrected) at the wheels should be a good ballpark!! It is being shown by more and more people, and more and more mods.. it will take a HEAD to put your MCS over 200 WHP ! and then with the software ( as it gets better) you will be able to tune for MORE!! It is also proving , that the cost and some mods and the HP gains are SOOoo.... small that it is still better to do the HEAD and then gain MORE form the later mods!! We pulled 222 actual Wheel HP, ( 211 SAE / 240.0 BHP) on a 04 MCS that has STOCK Cam/ Inter cooler/Exhaust manifold /and inj. ..... and this is what we are seeing and noticing on most mod ed MINI's.. 180 WHP and you done till you install a Ported Head!! 180 WHP MCS are a rocket to drive... and the 200+ gets down right thrilling....!!

Hello
Thanks everyone.

My car is almost out of BMW Warranty.

I need your opinion, do you think with JCW Kit and a new Remap (local BMW Specialist Vilauto ), I have profits with the installation of a new Intercooler?
Which of these two, ALTA Top mount Intercooler Version 2.0 or ALTA Top Mount Intercooler Classic?

Or do you think that with the modifications I have in my car, not profit nothing with the introduction of a new Intercooler?

Note: Here at Summer sometimes the temperatures reach the 35 Degree (about 3 months). In the remaining portion of the months the average temperature is high (approximately 25º Degrees). But in the Winter the temperature goes down for 15º Degree (about 3 months).

Best Regards

IMHO the inter cooler will " Profit" your driving in the summer..as it does here.
( USA) I have decided to keep my stock I/C and run a Methanol Spray. That way you keep the smaller volume I/C and the boost that you dont loose by the larger I/C. I dont know if you can get Meth/water there... but you can, and they are, running a good windshield washer fluid as a supplement !! The average 1 qt res. with the m/w lasts about 2 tanks of gas unless your RACING... So the cost is a long way short of the new I/C's. And the Profit to your performance is by far... better than the i/c. Just a thought.

No... go to the top of this page and search " water Meth" and you will see a bazillion pages and posts on the system!! I am going / gone with the "Snow performance " variable spray system.. cost about 500.00 US and can add up to 20 to 50 WHP!! along with all the other benefits!! cool?? I am not going to show DYNO results untill I do a few other things... but it rocks!!
