2022 JCW F60 Ceramic Brake Pads Recommendation Please

Hi,

My car is 2022 JCW F60. It has only 1,200 miles but the front brake pad wore out quickly. I think it can run additional 1 - 2k miles. Honestly, the OEM brake pads are quiet and soft. It stops very well but it makes too much brake dust.

I asked two different mechanics. One of them is my dealership and the another one is a third party mechanics that I have been using for many years. Both of them said it would wear out fast because I mainly drove my car start and stop in city. OK. I am convinced that the OEM pads will wear fast in this situation. In fact, brake pads wore out at 1,200 miles in 2.5 years is not too expensive but I hate the brake dust. I need to wash the wheel every 2 days.

I am seeking advices for good ceramic front brake pads with No performance downgrade. Any input is appreciated.

Thank you!

Daniel

Really, look for a ceramic pad. I run Dynamic Friction Euro 5000 pads on my R55 Clubman. MUCH less dust than OEM pads. Semi-metallic pads theoretically will give better brake power, but ceramics can get close. Advantage is ceramic pads will dust a ton less than any other pad.

Thank you Nik!

Do you run mainly in cities or freeway? How many miles of " Dynamic Friction Euro 5000" can last? The OEM one is totally disappointed. I never stop it hard but it can only last 12,000 miles.

Since I started running the bigger calipers and rotors, the pads seems to be a lifetime product, LOL. I do more highway driving than stop-n-go, but when I stop, I really get on them. I have ~30k miles on them now, and they still look to have most of their meat left. Before I switched and was still running the standard Cooper S brakes, I could go maybe 2 years on a set of pads, or about 50k miles. At this point, with the big brakes, I'm thinking 3-4 years out of the pads.
