2021 MINI JCW GP3 Pocono Track Day Videos

I have posted to my website, photos and in-car videos with telemetry in 1080P 60fps and roof mounted GoPro 4K 60fps videos of three track days at Pocono with my 2021 MINI JCW GP and 2019 MINI JCW International Orange Edition.

GP3 is fantastic on the track. Highest observed top speed at end of back straight showed 141 MPH on telemetry. Dash speedo showed 150mph.

Still getting used to GP3 automatic. Used it in manual mode and shifted with flappy paddles. GP3 never missed a beat and never overheated.

Those are awesome, thank you! A couple questions, if you don't mind: How did you get Harry's Laptimer to get the data for the gears and pedals? Do you just use a bluetooth OBDII adapter? Did you have to custom program any PID's? I've been trying to get that data forever, lol!

What was your best lap in the GP3 compared to the 2019 JCW? Got any comparison insights?

David,

Glad you are enjoying the videos. There are about 6 hours of them.

I am using an iPhone 7 Plus mounted to the inside of the windshield.

Harry's Lap Timer App - Grand Prix Edition. Video set to 1080P 60fps

PLX KIWI 3 OBD II Bluetooth Dongle

Bad Elf GPS Lightning Dongle (for better satellite speed telemetry)

Roof Mounted GoPro Hero 8 - 4k 60fps

I have had issues getting the OBDII KIWI dongle to maintain a fast connection to the iPhone. This past weekend, I had the ECU on my GP3 re-flashed at the dealer. There is a recall/tech bulletin that BMW/MINI ECU for all F55/F56 that was preventing connections to non-BMW/MINI OBDII modules. After the ECU re-flash, my KIWI dongle seem to work with the BIMMERCODE app better. I have not tried it with Harry's lap timer app yet.
