manual trans question

For those of you with manual JCWs - when at a complete stop, foot off clutch, and car in neutral and running, if you rev your engine, do you feel the engine in the shifter? I know it's a strange question, but I'm not sure that I've always felt the engine revving in the shifter when I was just sitting at a stop. I'm trying to isolate some different steering feel I get, and determine if it's just the runflats. Thought I'd ask here before I make a trip past the dealer, and ask them if I can start one up.

Thanks

I don't feel "engine vibration" in the shifter. In the past I had other cars that would transfer the vibration to the shifter.

Aren't the shifters in the Mini cable actuated (i.e.- not direct or hard linkage)? If you have vibration in the shifter, then that would be either coming through the floorpan via the engine mount or possibly the cables via a taught cable hookup. Since I am an auto version, I can't say other than my thoughts.
