There are several 2021 MINI GP3's listed at dealers throughout the USA.....one at Main Line MINI about 50 miles from me in Philly. One in Miami, one in Detroit, etc. VIN's are listed so these are not generic ads! Get a plane ticket Dan and drive it home to KY!
Edmunds and the Smoking tire gave it both a real bad review. I guess the turq steer is unbelievably bad not fun to drive and the trans is slow to downshift. Mine came in this week but im prob not going to end up getting it.

Their review contradicts all the reviews of actual GP3 owners so far on the Facebook GP3 owners group. I also have a tendency to take anything said with a grain of salt when on of the reviewers states essentially that "no Mini has been good since 2006", lol!
Either way, if you're in the neighborhood of KYDan, let him know so he can have yours
The steering is lively/twitchy for sure on U.K. roads when pressing on, there’s no way the GP3 has torque steer, I can’t put a finger on it and I’m sure I will get used to it Having not driven a MINI for 9 months. With regard to lazy down shifts, I certainly haven’t noticed that. Pull the paddle and the gear is selected be it up or down, however if the ecu thinks the revs are to high it won’t change down until they are low enough, to low and it will simply drop down a gear. Having driven manuals for 36 years I am proper pleased with the gearbox (never driven dsg though)
one thing is for sure it is the most firmly spring/damped MINI ever, be sure to glue your teeth in

MotoringFile has linked to a couple reviews so far that haven't been too good (they have not driven/reviewed one themselves though). The harsh ride was mentioned. So glad I have adjustable dampers now the sport mode is firm enough for me.
You can skip the first bit, and you get to where he does an initial impression of the car... No torque steer mentioned. Stiff ride though (we know) and there is a real treat at the end for anyone interested in modding their GP3...

FYI, I just picked up my GP, but it is showing up on Autotrader.
I have confirmed that this matches my VIN completely and is my car. I can only conclude that due to the complication involved in delivery of these cars (they do not show up as customer orders), the software dealers use automatically uploads them. There is a significant probability that these are also customer cars just like mine.
The way MINI USA is handling this, I believe that they actually received more reservation requests than spots available.
Every review I have seen praises how strong of a track car it is. It's exactly as its supposed to be and what MINI wanted. But I am glad you skipped as well.

It was predictable that some of them would end up on dealer lots and I believe many more will come. The bottom end is they will be discounted significantly when the interest will fade away in a few months from now and furthermore from the latest reviews not meeting expectations.
I was interested to buy one and was negotiating with the local dealer about a month ago. There was no problem to get one as I was told. We didn't agree on a fair price for my trade and they even were not aggressive to pursue the negotiation process. It seem the Mini sales guys were not hungry after so many months of inactivity.
I "crossed the street" to the BMW dealer and within a week, I made a deal for a far better car (M240i), better trade in value for my Coupe and better financing conditions,
For those who really want the GP3, just wait a few months and you will see the market fading very fast and big rebates coming soon. I also suspect there is a lot of cancellation because of the actual situation but of course we will never know from the Mini insiders.

You are most likely correct and I am awaiting the one I put a deposit on and I do plan to negotiate the deal. I am a true miniphile after 2 JCWs and this GP fascinates me. It should be a hoot on the Tail and other good roads as well occasional lite track duty. It will have all the juice that I need and minis are fun.

hey KYDan, please see my previous post! These cars are very much likely not for sale.
I mentioned this before, the original GP and GP2 were not successful and could be bought at significant discounts after awhile. History repeats itself. I just bought an Audi RS5 , new, for 14,000 off sticker. I love the car and I paid about the same as I paid for my wife's S5 Sportback. These special models never sell well, even though that ARE clearly special. Patiently wait and you can have one of these little super MINIs for a market price.
I attempt to be a savvy shopper and I have been patient and stated repeatedly if they, the dealership, attempt to gouge me I will walk away from the deal.
There will be a GP3 available for purchase at MINI of Ontario sometime the 2nd week of August. It was mine, but I was laid off due to the COVID pandemic and have am ordering a new GP for November delivery.

Dan I just picked the one up near Detroit Mi this was ordered by someone and it fell thru. I was getting ready to order one and I found out about this coming available number 0034. The roads there are terrible and it jumped all over the place until we got out of there we are driving it back to Salisbury NC utilizing backroads as much as we can so far so good I am just taking it easy.
The Smoking Tire review said the new GP3 weighs 2600 lbs, 100 lbs.. less than the original 2006 GP1. And about 900 lbs less than my 2020 JCW Clubman (same frame, motor, etc). How did they manage to do that? I get the no back seat, no sunroof, and no All4 drive. But 900 lbs? What else did they leave out?

If you have the time and the inclination keep us posted about your trip! You may find some roads that are shareworthy and if this pandemic ever subsides we might want to try some! However, between the Tail and the Triangle and other gems in the area (The area north of Sneedville comes to mind.) It is difficult to find many better public roads anywhere!

Two extra doors and about 4 feet of vehicle length. The GP3 is a 3-door hatchback, vs the Clubman as a 4-door wagon... Seems pretty easy to be ~900lbs lighter.

I guess so. My car is actually only 10" longer than the GP3, and the wheelbases are almost the same (105" vs 101"). I can't really find the listed weight for the GP3 anywhere except what the guy says on the video/test drive (2600, mine is 3450). But you're right if the All4 apparatus is 300 lbs like somebody said, 10" length, 2 doors, no seat, lighter wheels then 800 lbs is reasonable. Man that thing must be REALLY fast accelerating because my car is plenty fast I'll tell you what. I love the 8 speed transmission especially in the Sport mode. I'll skip the GP's suspension though!
Picked mine up yesterday, #0771. Traded in my 2019 MCS (with all the JCW add ons added). So far, I absolutely love it!!! I'm hoping to do some driving today to get more familiar with it and I'll give my impressions and feedback after if anyone is interested.
I called my dealer a week over a week ago and they said it was at the dock and ready to be loaded and that they would send me a package with information and some sort of gift. I haven't heard from them since, but with all the issues with shipments created by the pandemic it is not unexpected. But, I am still anxiously awaiting some information and when it will ship! I am like a kid at Christmas, but it has been since November of 2019 since I sent my money in for the deposit!
