I found the same thing with mine, even before I had the tuning kit installed.

Setting it on low today, it just felt more responsive and the power felt more stable and gradual. Running it on high, it almost feels like a slight lag but the torque and power is there. In conclusion, I'm keeping it on low until I put race fuel.

Warning (all measurements are done with a highly calibrated butt dyno. Accuracy may be differ from person to person. It's accurate to me and my car only)
I run mine on high at all times. I do add Royal Purple Octane boost for daily driving and Torco Accelerator for track days. I can never go back to low setting just for the passing power alone... well at least until the winter tires go back on.

I also run mine on high all the time. I use Lucas Oil Octane Boost and it works just fine.

Any MMT based octane booster would work. Non MMT based wouldn't do much to increase octane.

Pull your plug or cat after a few bottles and if it's MMT based it will be reddish orange color. Or check their MSDS for MMT. I wouldn't use octane booster too often, it can't be good for your emission system. No matter what the manufacturer say...

RP, Lucas, LiquiMoly, Torco are all legit octane booster with MMT.

My cat after 3 bottles of LiquiMoly MMT based octane booster.

Those new F56 S and JCW cats are so big. Saw one in person and nice you can actually see them now with the new set up.

Has anyone with a JCW run the NM power module on high using 93 octane and no octane boost additive? (at sea level)

I tried it, and it does run stronger, but inconsistently for me. I don't think the ECU was happy. Some days my car seemed to have a lot more power, next time seemed to lose power. Running race fuel from the track made it perfect all the time, just expensive. On low setting, power seems great to me and I don't think too much stress on the tranny.

NM module on high setting with race fuel (101 octane) is great. The question is how much can you get out of it as you transition to premium gas (91 octane) it's definitely noticeable, almost sluggish. Most people have switcheded back to low once race fuel isn't being used. Still good, just not as fun. You gotta pay to play I guess.

I will try mixing 91 with 100 to achieve 95. My JCW is not my daily driver so it shouldn't be too costly. I'm at a full tank now and will fill it with 100 when I'm around a half tank.

I would rather run an Aquamist HFS-4 h2O/meth injection. Does anyone know where the nozzle can be mounted?

Generally, I do the same and try to transition going from 101 back to 91. If only we can get a consistent 93 on most station, I would take that route. The race fuel is 7 miles away which isn't too bad, but not close enough to use as my go to station for their 94. If only the tank was as big as the gen 2. The extra 2-2.5 gallons would sure can come in handy at times.

The only reasonably close unleaded 100 octane (Sunoco)is 70 miles away and costs $9 per gallon, therefore, it is not a choice other than special occasions. I do plan to get some and bring it here and have it on hand for a dynomometer run to determine how much additional power it will produce in the mini. I use 93 Octane Shell for the most part as it is readily available and reasonably priced. I use a Shell card and the rewards card and that reduces the premium by 10 cents per gallon.

Has anyone encountered an inconsistency in the car's performance with the NM module? I have installed it on my stock JCW and it seems in 2nd and 3rd gear sometimes the car will pull hard, other times the car will not throw me back and it'll growl but feel as if it's being held back. Setting is on low, running 91 or 93 octane.

Occasionally, I have had it happen, but rarely. I have taken it off whenever I take it in for service and it seems to stabilize after that. I consistently run 93 octane and that may help, but I am not sure. Try it on high, I queried NM about it and they advised me it wouldn't hurt anything. I am trying to locate some 100 octane unleaded within a reasonable distance to see if that makes a difference and also considering some octane boost additive. I want to see what it does with that. I had it on a dynamometer and it consistently showed a 20-21 HP increase over stock. I notice a big change when in overboost.

Has been a couple days since my inconsistency with the NM module. I guess it took some more time for my fuel trims to smooth out, but now the car is 100% consistently pulling hard no matter what driving mode or gear I'm in. Going to be increasing setting to High.

I only notice a difference on hot vs. cold days. More power in the cooler days or mornings/evenings. It's always on high and I'm just running 91 unless at the track. Track days I put in Torque octane boost at about 96 octane.

I've been running the NM power module on high for over 100 miles. I mixed 100 and 91 octane and am at 95 octane.

I noticed in normal mode I hit 21 psi and it sure pulls hard in the top end. However, in sport mode I have only seen 17-18 psi. Bottom end is strong but it really flattens out at 4500 rpm.

I ran the power module on low and noticed lower boost in sport mode as well.

I disconnected the power module and still notice lower boost in sport mode compared to normal mode.

This is interesting, I wonder if it could be due to "learning mode" by the ECU and or the NM module?
