Fog light toggle switch

I have two blank locations for toggle switches on my instrument panel. Are there any standard mini toggle switches I can buy that are a simple off and on? Or is it sending a signal to something else in the car that is making the off/on switch?

I was thinking about adding a LED light bars tucked back into part of the grill. I wanted to have a stock looking toggle switch on the dash to control it. I needs to be a straight off and on. Because I'm going to use a relay to control the fog lights so they are tied into my brights.

Yes.

Hardly any switch on the car is a mechanical contact switch. Almost all of them send a signal to a computer module that performs the actual function. It isn't easy to repurpose a stock toggle for custom function. The toggle lever presses on an electronic contact on a circuit board behind the switch..

That sucks. This answer is probably out there, but has anyone repurposed a toggle switch and used the factor power output wherever it goes? I.e. JC doesn't have factory foglights, but I suspect the toggle switch for fog lights on the normal S would work and I bet the wiring harness is the same. If you added the switch and then found the wiring harness. Probably not worth the hassle. :(

I just realized today, I have rear fog lights with existing push button. Easy solution is I will wire power from rear fog lights to control auxiliary fog lights. I don't see any reason why rear lights and auxiliary fog lights can't be on at the same time.

If you have the correct headlight switch with the RFL button the wiring is already there. All you should have to do is code the RFL. There is a whole thread on this in the hatch talk section.
